ngineers working with the Royal Navy have let their imaginations run wild designing what submarines of the future could look like and have come up with stunning concepts which mimic nature.
Vessels shaped like manta rays, eel-like drones and swarms of fish-shaped torpedoes are just some of the ideas proposed for revolutionising underwater warfare.
Eel-like drones could be deployed from the submarines
With more than 70pc of the planet's surface covered by water, the oceans remain one of the world's great mysteries and untapped resources, said Commander Peter Pipkin, the Royal Navy's fleet robotics officer.
"It's predicted that in 50 years' time there will be more competition between nations to live and work at sea or under it. With this in mind that the Royal Navy is looking at its future role, and how it will be best equipped to protect Britain's interests around the globe.
One concept envisioned is manned mothership submarine with a whale shark mouth and the body of manta ray, which would be faster than anything currently in service.

All well and good, but unless you find a way to trap all noise emissions within the hull, it doesn’t really accomplish much does it?
Old ground pounder here so I really don’t know enough to comment on the future of the world’s navies. However, I honesty doubt that the Royal Navy will be the leader of the pack.
It is equally doubtful that the bankrupt United States will ever be able to achieve its’ former technological lead over China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, combined......
Just saying, the globalist leaders of both parties have naively empowered our enemies far too long....now who knows how far they have advanced....
The allies nearly lost WWII, largely due to elites empowering our fascist enemies, silly fantasy designs reminiscent of the optimism of the 60’s is simply delusional in the face of North Korea’s developement of ICBM’s.
100 per cent of what? Even fungi only claim 90%, 50% max.....Enigmas are hard to understand, solve, and even harder to respond to.....At least the requisite logo was there...

True enough. But technology can solve problems such as that.
I wonder how many people recognize that.
It looks similar to the Seaview.
We’ll see how these day dreams (for now) turn out.
Well see how these day dreams (for now) turn out.

That’s right.
Pure science fiction.
The UK will not have a navy in the future, all monies will go to social programs and muslims.
