An assistant professor at the University of Iowa who pledged to expose her students to “their own white ignorance” in a “peer-reviewed academic journal” was stunned and appalled that she was, well, criticized for it.
Jodi Linley, a white education instructor, wrote that her goal was to make her “mostly white” graduate students keenly aware of their “white privilege” and use her classroom to “deconstruct whiteness.” If she did otherwise, she explained, it would make her “complicit” in perpetrating white supremacy.
“For white students,” she wrote, “talking about race with an all-white group of peers … [reveals] their own white ignorance.”
Linley said her commitment to designing classes that fight white privilege began as soon as she became a professor in 2014, at which point she resolved to “develop courses that both unveiled and rejected” the notion that “neutrality and objectivity are realistic and attainable.”
“As a white assistant professor of mostly white graduate students who will become higher education leaders, I work to dismantle whiteness in my curriculum, assignments and pedagogy,” Linley explained, noting that in addition to her “white identity,” she also draws on her “identities as a queer, able-bodied, cisgender woman” with a working-class background to construct her “teaching paradigm.”

People like that are just as bad as the idiots I knew back in my day who’d drunkenly trash and vandalize residences and other campus property. Why can’t you simply go to a university to study things like History or English Language and Literature or Art History or Classics or anything else like that and not have ones like her who remind you of the General Bradford Steele character from “M*A*S*H” damage or completely ruin the whole thing?

I remember her. The banker’s assistant. Was he Mr. Drysdale? Can’t remember her name. The only thing that comes up is Miss Hathaway. Anyhow, as I recall, it was from The Beverly Hillbillies.

I felt obligated to look the word up so I could understand what it means. According to Wikipedia, it means thinking you are the same gender that you were assigned at birth. Or, a longer word meaning normal.
But then, I started thinking about who Wikipedia thinks the gender assigner is. And how much does a license to be a gender assigner cost? I suppose that varies by location.
I remember that period. A number of people were walking around in t-shirts with that phrase under a picture of Malcolm X.
I recall somebody marketing a response t-shirt, with a picture of Albert Einstein against a background of equations, with the words "It's a white thing, you wouldn't understand". Today, wearing such a shirt on campus would produce riots and immediate expulsion.
And, ‘on ‘approved credit’ rating.
She thinks having a black boyfriend will save her.
Sorry, up here when we refer to community college, we mean places for the practical trades or apprenticeships, etc.
No tax dollars or federal grants should go to any university that allows racism against white people.

That's it in a nutshell. No one has ever said that neutrality and objectivity can be perfectly achieved. People are fallible. But they remain essential goals if we are to rise above social interaction, including politics, conceived as nothing more than the exercise of brute power.
2,600 years of western civilization trying to grope its way to a higher standard, and leftists now dogmatically insist that the only thing that matters is whose boot is grinding whose face. And they intend to be wearing the boot.
Whatever happened to "speaking the truth to power" when one denies the very concept of "truth," and the quaint Judeo-Christian, western, rationalist, and probably heteronormative and male centric idea that truth has a claim on everyone?

Aren't there any grownups in charge? How do people like this get hired? What does the chancellor of the University say? Are whites forced to take this course? Does he just rubber stamp any tripe that comes his way? What sensible person would put up with this craziness?
“White privilege instruction” sounds a lot like est or Esalen, whacked-out California cults of the 70s.
