Breaking: Sebastian Gorka Resigns From Trump Administration
The Federalist ^ | 08/25/2017 | Mollie Hemingway

Posted on 08/25/2017 5:22:00 PM PDT by gubamyster

Sebastian Gorka is resigning his post as Deputy Assistant to President Trump, multiple sources familiar with the situation have told The Federalist.

In a blunt resignation letter, the national security and counterterrorism expert expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of the Trump administration. “[G]iven recent events, it is clear to me that forces that do not support the MAGA promise are – for now – ascendant within the White House,” Gorka wrote. “As a result, the best and most effective way I can support you, Mr. President, is from outside the People’s House.”

Gorka’s letter expressed unhappiness with the direction the Trump administration’s foreign policy has taken, as signaled by the president’s recent speech on Afghanistan:

“Regrettably, outside of yourself, the individuals who most embodied and represented the policies that will ‘Make America Great Again,’ have been internally countered, systematically removed, or undermined in recent months. This was made patently obvious as I read the text of your speech on Afghanistan this week…

“The fact that those who drafted and approved the speech removed any mention of Radical Islam or radical Islamic terrorism proves that a crucial element of your presidential campaign has been lost…

“Just as worrying, when discussing our future actions in the region, the speech listed operational objectives without ever defining the strategic victory conditions we are fighting for. This omission should seriously disturb any national security professional, and any American who is unsatisfied with the last 16 years of disastrous policy decisions which have led to thousands of Americans killed and trillions of taxpayer dollars spent in ways that have not brought security or victory.”

During his time in the Trump administration, Gorka focused on issues such as countering the Muslim Brotherhood, the crisis in Qatar, drafting a new long-term national security strategy, and combatting China’s economic warfare. Before coming to the White House, Gorka was an editor for national security affairs for Breitbart News, where he worked with Steve Bannon, who also recently departed the administration.

Gorka’s tenure at the White House was marked by unusually vociferous attacks against him and his family by left-leaning media organizations and the Democratic Party. This includes personal attacks against his wife, mother, and son.

A source close to the White House said of his decision, “This was more or less going to be a done deal when Bannon submitted his resignation. Not because he didn’t have a protector, but because there is no point in having your life ruined every day if you’re not going to get much accomplished.” The same source said that what did change after Bannon left was that anti-Bannon factions began erecting bureaucratic road blocks to undermine Gorka internally.

The Forward has written dozens of attack pieces against Gorka, including several attempting to align him with Nazism. Most recently that publication retracted a story about his son’s schoolwork. Gorka strenuously objected to allegations he had ties to Nazi groups in his family’s home country of Hungary, where he had previously been involved in national politics. Even detractors eventually acknowledged the Nazi accusations were unfair smears.

In his letter, Gorka made clear that he believes in the promise of the Trump presidency despite being concerned about its present direction.

“Your presidency will prove to be one of the most significant events in modern American politics. November the 8th was the result of decades during which the political and media elites felt that they knew better than the people who elect them into office. They do not, and the MAGA platform allowed their voices to be heard,” he wrote, adding, “Millions of people believe in, and have chosen, you and your vision of Making America Great Again. They will help eventually rebalance this temporary reality.”

“F off. If you say Trump is making deals with deep state, you better have g-damn proof. Or face the consequences”

The Deep State wanted Flynn gone. He is gone. The Deep State wanted Bannon gone. He is gone. The Deep State wanted Gorka gone. He is gone. The Deep State wants perpetual war in the ME. There is to be a troop increase in Afghanistan. And the biggest thing of all is that the Deep State doesn’t Hillary, Bill or the Clinton Foundation investigated. There is no investigation.

I know you have been fighting please don’t stop. Don’t be pissed at your self. we pour lots of what we want to believe and hope for in to these people. we see what we want to see in politics and it vends up riding on the actions of fallible people we are always setting ourselves up to be rightf GTully upset. I read your arguments and I know you would rather have things to say about the current events That would be positive but being reality based you are in my view rightly concerned. I hope you stay on the train a little bit longer this CR fight should show us truly what we have in president Trump. We have a lot invested in this experiment the president has shown he fights. He will get better but it seems he all alone, save US. keep fighting nopardons. No answers or happy bs other than momma said there’d be days like this. This isn’t about trump but you know all that. Sorry for all the bad grammar it’s late

I’m not seeing them much this time. They have to be seeing what we are seeing - all the Trump supporters are on the outside looking in as people who didn’t support Trump nor agree with his mission are on the inside.

That's okay...I can easily read most typos and late night posts ( I get a bit "off" then too, from needing to go to bed ), without being a spelling and/or grammar police idiot. :-)

Many thanks for your very kind words; much appreciated, I assure you!

My problem and why I am now kicking myself, is that Trump and I are of an age, both born & bread and grammar schooled New Yorkers, and from the same kind of social strata. We have different accents, though, which is VERY "normal" and "usual", considering the families we grew up in as well as the location...I got to Manhattan at birth; he didn't.

So with all of the similarities ( heck, we even knew/know some of the same people, but no, I have never met nor spoken to him ), I wrongfully assumed that he because of who he is and knowing far more people than I did/do, he would escape the curse or the amateur and outsider. He didn't, still doesn't, and I'm angry as all getout; at him and myself!

Will he "get better"?

WHO KNOWS? I'M NOT COUNTING MY CHICKENS ANYMORE, WHILST ALL I HAVE ARE EGGS!

Yes, this IS about "saving and restoring" this nation. I never even vaguely thought that he or anyone could do it in 8 years, let alone in four.

Oh we get RED MEAT RALLIES and every once in a while he tosses us a bone, but that just ain't cuttin' it!

Gary Cohn gave an interview bashing him and keeps his job; Gorka defends him relentlessly and is fired.

That's the crux of the situation right there. And Cohn is a flaming Obama-Liberal as is Powell. As a conservative I cannot abide this.

P.S.

I don't wear pearls, I don't like Ted Cruz, the NeverTrumpers suck, and i'm not a member of the Mormon Mafia. But I do have eyes that see. and ears that hear.

All we have left is Kellyanne and Miller. Sarah does as well, but any press secretary would.

I have said liberals say on Twitter that they are removing these people first and then will get Trump.

The media tries to make it look like if Trump just fires Bannon or Gorka or Flynn that they will like him more - no! They will not. They will never. All he is doing is isolating himself.

My thinking is this - he’s under attack in multiple ways:

1. Democrats
2. Media
3. Establishment Republicans
4. Deep State

He’s under attack in all these areas, so he needs a team of people on the inside who are all on board with what he ran on. He, on day one, picked some people who are qualified people for the job, but they don’t necessarily align with his beliefs and what he ran on. I think he allowed too many foxes into his hen house and got bad advice.

What? He’s a swamp creature. He’s just moving pieces until he can remove Trump. He’ll never like Trump. He’ll never help Trump. If Trump listens to him, the only thing that will happen is that he will gain zero support from the left, MAYBE a handful of moderates (questionable), and lose his base (which is what Schiff wants). Schiff’s goal is to defeat Trump.

Other than the Afghanistan policy being modified, virtually everything else is being done according to the President’s campaign promises—certainly about as good as could be reasonably expected. Any blame for failures to implement MAGA lies squarely at the feet of the GOPe cowards in Congress. Practically speaking, they’ve done more to weaken this president than the Democrats have, quite frankly. The proof of that is the yuge mumber of primary challenges that we’re going to see in 2018 on the GOP side. It’s apparent already.
So Sebastian Gorka can moan about being isolated and there not being enough Bannon types in the White House, but as far as I can see, the man at the top is still 100% MAGA.
It’s Gorka who looks like a whiny loser whose actions only exacerbate the problem he’s complaining about. It’s as if he is saying “It’s too hard! I quit!”
Until there are some kind of pronounced changes in President Trump’s domestic policies which don’t comport with “make America great again” and “drain the Swamp”, I’ll refrain from the predictable second-guessing. There appear to be a sufficient number of armchair quarterbacks—on both the Left and Right—playing that role...

Good post.

You said it perfectly. When the entire political establishment is at war with you, you don’t need to be fighting your own staff.

The generals are in league against Trump—and Trump hasn’t figured it out yet. Let’s hope he does before it is too late.

No, Trump doesn’t need Kelly as chief of staff. He should have a loyal, seasoned political operative like David Urban.

Kelly is doing the dirty work of isolating Trump and controlling the flow of information to him, while McMaster and company plot against him.

God bless us and God bless Trump. And yes, Jivanka was the beginning of the end.

I got attacked on here by some when I posted about the firing of General Flynn. I said it was bad to give the media scalp, and I knew they would keep pushing until they got to Trump. Trump is their main target. Post here:
