President Trump, to his credit, only dealt with this nonsense in response to a public media outcry. Remember -- his comments in the lobby of Trump Tower came in response to a cacophony of questions about Charlottesville from a bunch of media losers at a public announcement that was supposed to be about the White House initiatives for public infrastructure.

When Trump mentioned that "there were good people on both sides" he was referring to the actual circumstance that some of the people who want to preserve the statues are not Neo-Nazis or white supremists as some of the people protesting were not Antifa.
