President Trumps threat to shut down the federal government if Congress doesnt budget money for a border wall could upend delicate negotiations on Capitol Hill to keep the government fully operating past September as Democrats harden their resolve to oppose the funding.
During a campaign rally in Phoenix on Tuesday night, Trump leveled his latest threat about blocking new government funding if it doesnt include money to start building a new barrier along the Mexico border.
Build that wall, he said. Now, the obstructionist Democrats would like us not to do it. But believe me, if we have to close down our government, were building that wall.

MAGA!
Sounds like he’s had enough of the RINOs and their B.S.. GOOD!!!
Its about time. What’s the over/under on Republicans voting with the Democrats to overturn Trump’s veto?
The only “sensitive negotiations” I’d like to hear about are those that congresslosers have with a federal prosecutor when they try to get some sort of lighter sentence for their sedition.
WaPo = A Whale of Poo
Dont believe these Lying Leftist Media outlets that proved themselves during the 2016 campaign to be operatives of the DNC and intentional liars. They are presumed to be lying and we should presume what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.
We should be mostly publishing the truth on FR, not the lies, and as much good news as possible to bolster morale. We should find and post reliable sources that have already deconstructed the lie and replaced it with the truth and with a headline that says the truth. We need much more of that on FR IMO. The key is the headline and the first few sentences because not everyone has time to drill down. The endless stream of negative, lying headlines sabotages our purpose IMO.
Sensitive negotiations?
F that. You political swine shut the hell up and act right.
Dear antifas PRyno and Ditch:
Pass a real budget.
Build the Wall
Repeal 0dontcare
Taxcuts
Do your job well before throwing stones at others. We have heard enough from you. We need to see assh0lez and elbows.
Do they actually say why it “could” upset “delicate negotiations” or what the would be so bad?
Only thing wrong is it is THE OBSTRUCTIONIST UNIPARTY.
It does sound like Trump has had enough of playing nice and getting
nothing in return for it.
Shut it down until the border wall is funded.
Hear, Hear !!!!!
The Dems refuse to fund the wall, because they view every illegal alien as a future Democrat voter. These “illegal immigrants”, as the MSM and the Dems insist upon calling them, come with their hands out, and a list of demands.
Legal immigration is good, you know who has come in. Illegal aliens have have withing them those who mean us ill, and those who will never acclimate, or share our love of the USA.
It's “Bread and Circuses”. The bread is the handouts, and the circuses is the MSM entertainment. Just as Rome had problems and eventually fell, our nation cannot endure this onslaught of illegal aliens crossing our border. Any Congress member who votes against funding the wall should be viewed as anti-American.
I am for not extending the debt limit - under any circumstances.
I know, that makes me a “radical.”
No. 1 priority for long term well being of this country is to control LOW SKILLED, LOW NET WORTH immigrants. Border wall is no. 1 priority to achieve that.
Shaddap, Bezos.
Yap, only time debt limit could be extended should be during a high intensity war situation.
Taking on national debt during peace times is EXACTLY like acquiring more credit cards and load up on expenditures on credit, when unable to pay off previous credit card debt already in place.
