On Monday, August 21, I attended a volunteer orientation in response to a call for help for the Trump rally the following day. It was not clear that this was from the Trump campaign or the Arizona GOP, but at any rate I and dozens and dozens of other people showed up at the Arizona Republican Party HQ. So many showed up, in fact, that they had to do orientations in shifts. Judging by the names on the rolls, they got about three times as many people as they needed.
Instead of being ushers or working inside, however, we were told that this was a voter registration drive and the first real event of the 2020 Trump reelection campaign. We would be working in teams of at least two, or often more. Having done this in the past, I knew things were well in handusually, one person per zone is plenty.

Glad you got in!
Excellent after-action report, LS! Good to have boots on the ground, as it were, to know the truth of what happened!
He ought to put some ice on that. NYUK NYUK NYUK :)
“...I noticed a line of police on horses. Imposing....”
Police Horses are very imposing, indeed. I remember Philly mounted cops. They break up a fomenting situation very quickly.
And yes, thanks for the field report... well done.
Thanks so much! We need the truth!
Thanks for the excellent report. Below is a little humor coming from the streets yesterday evening.
Enjoy!

Notice how some of the new street journalists started to quickly leave the scene after the Pepper Balling!
I'm so sorry you and your friends weren't able to get inside.
My husband and I attended only one Trump rally way back on February 2, 2016 in Milford, New Hampshire. We arrived *several hours* before the start of the rally, and stood out in the cold for hours near the entrance. We were among the first to get inside, but our backs were killing us from the hours of standing.
Once inside, we realized it was standing room only. I managed to beg Security for a chair, which hubby and I shared in shifts, lol.
Perhaps you can go to another Trump rally in the future...
That's fantastic. I was very worried about Trump supporters at the venue in Phoenix last night.
RooRoobird20: Were you able to get to the Trump rally last night?
Fox News said the venue was packed to the gills with 19,000 people!
I LOVE your tagline, by the way! :-)
I was joking...get over YOURself
Pimping is still pimping. Had the whole thing been posted I’d have likely gone to the blog to see what else was there, as I’ve done with other non-excerpted blogs. There’s a difference between forcing clicks to get the information and offering a sample that may draw clicks from appreciative readers.
And to follow up on my freepmail, please see the post after yours.
This has worked for them in the past to get Republicans to tone things down and be so civil to make it easy to steamroll over them. After 9/11 President Bush gave a very good speech and the libs even then wrung their hands and said “too much” and he was if not abrasive too confrontational or whatever they called it. Bush toned it down, then they started labeling him as wishy washy.
They are trying to get Trump to not be Trump. Because...well Trump being Trump works with such a cross section of we the people. Just another way to try to silence his message.
All of these tactics have worked for years against Republicans and us, their voters. They had us sitting down with our hands folded, now they want us to go back to that so they can continue to destroy our country unopposed.
They are going literally crazy because all the things that have worked so well against us in the past are not working now.
Thank you so much for posting this, and thank you for all your hard work always for this great country!

“...hitting a police horse...”
The policeman should have let the horse kick the sh*t out of the antifa POS.
Iron shod hooves are a great attitude adjuster.
