A group of alumni from one of the country's most influential evangelical Christian universities is condemning their school's president for his continued alignment with President Trump.
A small but growing number of Liberty University graduates are preparing to return diplomas to their school. The graduates are protesting university President Jerry Falwell Jr.'s ongoing support for Trump. They began organizing after Trump's divisive remarks about the deadly white supremacist protests in Charlottesville, Va.
Chris Gaumer, a former Student Government Association president and 2006 graduate, said it was a simple decision.
"I'm sending my diploma back because the president of the United States is defending Nazis and white supremacists," Gaumer said. "And in defending the president's comments, Jerry Falwell, Jr. is making himself and, it seems to me, the university he represents, complicit."

Liberty is a well regarded university academically. It’s where conservative professors go when they can’t stand government universities any longer.
Maybe firing you from your job is a good idea since you likely used that Diploma as a bargaining chip.
Good points. I’m a state-recognized non-public school, so I just print off diplomas for my children when they need them.
What’s this four-year gap?

How long does someone have to attend Liberty University before finding out it’s a conservative school, and that its leader is likely to support conservative politicians?

The question is the snowflakes resume. What does it say? Liberty university or Podunk City Public High School?

By all means return your diploma, it will enrich the value of the real students of this University the job market. Most collegiate diplomas are worth less than toilet paper these days anyways.

But Trump never said that the white supremacists and neo-Nazis were “very fine people.” He said that there two different types of people protesting the taking down of the Robert E. Lee statue – the racists (“some very bad people in that group”), and people who thought that for the sake of history it was important not to take down the statue...
Trump: “And you had people, and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists.
“OK? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly.”
Reporter: “You were saying the press has treated white nationalists unfairly? (inaudible) understand what you’re saying.”
Trump: “No, no. There were people in that rally, and I looked the night before. If you look, they were people protesting very quietly the taking down of the statue of Robert E. Lee. I’m sure in that group there were some bad ones. The following day, it looked like they had some rough, bad people – neo-Nazis, white nationalists, whatever you want to call them.

President Trump made it very clear that his comment did not pertain to “neo-Nazis and the white nationalists.” When a reporter misinterpreted his very clear statement, Trump again made it clear that the bad people were the “neo-Nazis, white nationalists.”
How much clearer could the president be?
The press continually misreports Trump’s statements...
Does the press just think that no one will look at what Trump actually said? For those who do look at the original interview and Trump’s multiple, clear statements on the matter, the media risks losing what little credibility it still has.

the FakeNewsMSM has given people a licence to riot, to degrade, to threaten and, perhaps, even kill a democratically-elected President.
why? because they colluded with the Clinton campaign to get their nominee elected, and FAILED.
they will use any means necessary to avoid having to answer for their very real collusion (witness the Podesta emails, which the FakeNewsMSM vitually ignored).
These misguided malcontents can send their diplomas back however, I can only assume that University will keep them on their rolls. Why? Because universities depend on their rolls to substantiate enrollment and GPA for future enrollees who ascertain the worth of the University they are choosing to attend.
Basically what the misinformed are thinking is if they are returning a piece of paper for the University to put in the trash can the record of attendance and studies will also be expunged. Yet their diplomas are still recorded and their GPA will still be retained on file and will remain so.
Accountability. Perhaps a business degree would have given the clueless a better understanding of how management functions.
Sound and fury signifying nothing. I wish the university could negate their degree and strip them of any benefits they have gained due to it.
Very small. And I bet if one took the time to investigate these snowflakes, nearly each one would have their own story of drifting away from the ways in which they were taught.
Not having the actual piece of paper, the diploma, will not prevent someone from getting a job that requires a degree.
The HR department should receive from the college directly an official college transcript that would indicate that the candidate received a degree, the name of that degree (BS,BA etc) and the date received.
He better hope that his first employer is a fellow nut Democrat!!
