Protesters ripped down a monument of a Confederate soldier Monday evening. The monument has stood in Durham County, NC since 1924.
WNCN reports:
A crowd of protesters gathered outside the old Durham County courthouse on Main Street Monday evening in opposition to a Confederate monument in front of the government building.
Around 7:10 p.m. a woman climbed the statue using a ladder and attached a rope around the statue.
Moments later, The crowd pulled on the rope and the statue fell.
In 1924, the Confederate statue was dedicated to Durham.
Engraved on the front of the monument is “The Confederate States of America.”
Above it, is a statue representing a soldier who fought in the civil war.
“It needs to be removed,” Loan Tran, an organizer, said earlier Monday. “These Confederate statues in Durham, in North Carolina, all across the country.”
There are similar monuments in several cities around North Carolina.

Destroying the Monuments of the Civil War will not change history, just as destroying the Artifacts in the middle-east by ISIS does not change the History over there.....what will these people not like tomorrow, maybe airplanes or cars,
CNN is running a slideshow of the 1500 monuments to Confederates in the country with pics, locations.
Next come the memorials to our slave-owning Founding Fathers.
Time to pull down a liberal hero statue...

People who destroy traces of history do so with the genuine intent of establishing tyranny and destroying other people.
Excuse me if towns across the South don't rush to do this because "Loan Tran" said to do so.

So now six flags over tx will have to be five flags over tx because of the Confederate flag we were under once in history.
The local sheriff was taking video.
If there are no arrests, then the other side should be able to destroy progressive monuments in Durham.
If the police attempt to arrest, the the other side should be able to use firearms in self-defense.

I am still dissapointed that I didn't get a chance to see what happened when she ran for reelection.
That would include Mount Vernon and Monticello.
