Author Dinesh D'Souza explained why white nationalists actually belong in the Democratic party, which promotes ethnic nationalism, just days after violence displays by white supremacists left the nation grieving.
A white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, VA turned ugly on Saturday when white racist rioters clashed with law enforcement and counter-protesters, leaving one dead and dozens injured.
"The way that the progressive Democrats have constructed their sort of multi-cultural totem pole, they encourage every form of ethnic nationalism except white nationalism," D'Souza told "Fox & Friends" on Monday. "The white guy is not welcome at the multi-cultural picnic."

ALL the hate groups belong to the DEMS.
Dinesh is a bright guy but he is wrong, preserving a history and protesting the removal of a monument honoring that history is not ethnic nationalism, it is just nationalism, and even if persuaded to believe that it is doesn’t mean it belongs in the ‘D’ column.
“A white supremacist “
I don’ buy it. I believe that group was a George Soros funded group pretending to be white supremacists.
There seems to be a lot of conflating of terms around this sort of thing.
I’m white. I am proud to be white. How can that possibly be wrong?
I’m a nationalist and a patriot. How can that possibly be wrong?
I am a white nationalist. That is not an evil thing to be.
AND THE CONFLATION — I guess I just admitted to being a white supremacist and a long time Klan member, right?
No.
The Black Lives Matter people are racial supremacists. If you say “All Lives Matter” they get very upset — “No, no, no — BLACK lives matter.”
If Hollywood needs someone to play God, you know it’s going to be Morgan Freeman.
White people are stupid and evil and hateful. White people cause all the problems in the world, right?
Someone (BLM) is trying to pit the races against each other and to declare that Whites are bad and Blacks are better. That’s a racial supremacy argument.
I’m a nationalist white guy.
When they see that and call me a White Supremacist, they’re using a rhetorical cheat. THEY are the supremacists. Not me.
I’m a non violent white nationalist.
I’m half Italian and I love America. What’s left of it.
It is true that Democrats support every other form of ethnonationalism.
So why do they leave only one group out?
Is it so that the other groups will have an enemy to rally against?
White Supremacy is the granddaddy of all identity politics and it does come from the Democrats. Republicans are more about individual opportunity regardless of race, creed, color, religion, etc. The thing about identity politics is that it is very clubby and people periodically get tossed out if they do not tow the line by saying and doing the “correct things.” The White Supremacists have been kicked out of the Democrat club which is now all about turning the United States of America into the international equivalent of the crazy neighborhood cat hoarder, only with people instead of cats (just not white ones). So yes, the White Supremacists are homeless, but nationalists of any stripe are not homeless.
Every time I think about being proud of being white, I take a look at low forehead morons marching around with torches and Nazi garb and am quickly dissuaded of any such idea.
A quick stroll through Walmart has the same effect.
I grew up in SoCal where most of the crime was committed by minorities. I now live in an overwhelming white city. Same crimes only its scumbag white people doing it.
I just don't get the white pride thing. You are either a scumbag or you are not, the color of your skin has nothing to do with anything.
I am from Alabama. There is not a deeper red, more right leaning state in the Union. I have not seen or talked to a klan member since the eighties. I live in the country among gun loving rednecks. None of these people are white supremacists. Blacks and whites get along pretty well around here. There are more and more mixed couples and children. Where are these people hanging out?
I don't necessarily disagree.
I will say three things:
1) I really try to ignore race. I think it's boring and inconsequential. As you indicate, there's scum all over, and no group is immune. I don't actually walk around thinking "I'm proud to be white". It's not really much of an accomplishment. What I really was getting at in my earlier comments was: "I am not ashamed".
2) I think Western Civilization is the great civilization. Socrates, Plato, Vergil, Shakespeare, Voltaire, Beethoven, Rembrandt, Einstein -- the list of great Western achievement is long indeed. I am familiar with much of that civilization's accomplishment, and I am truly proud to be familiar with it. I put effort into knowing it because it is worth knowing. Culture matters a great deal; race not so much.
3) My real heartburn on this issue comes from the blatant double standard which is perhaps best expressed in a joke that often circulates on the internet:
The issue was about the city wanting to get rid of the Gen Lee statue in the city Park.
Other groups joined to help protest, not clear if the Nazis & KKK groups were real or leftists camouflaged to create political drama that would benefit the Democrats. I was also just reminded that the Republican Congress Representative shooting took place in VA.
A lot of odd coincidences with this situation.
They are Democrats and most Democrats (at least the ones in the Democrat power structure) secretly agree with them.
Ever wonder why the party of slavery and segregation is so eager to remove Confederate monuments and wipe the Confederacy from history?
Nothing they do is for a benign purpose...
My German mother knew of another time when the government rewrote history. This will not end well.
Thank you. You are correct.
Real life is more complicated than that.
