On August 12, a driver drove his vehicle into a crowd of “anti-racist” protesters, killing one woman and injuring 19 other individuals. The suspect has been identified as James Alex Fields, Jr.

Department of Memes reported that police officers in Charlottesville believed the driver was not acting maliciously, suggesting he was scared by the protesters on every side of his vehicle and he did not know what to do.

So far I am believing he is accused of murder. That is about it. I have read he may have been attacked as he was pulling out of a parking garage a block or so away as were many people. I have seen video of him hitting his brakes before anyone was hurt and then hitting the gas after his car was struck with a baseball bat. So far I have done my best to form an opinion only on real evidence. I have seen the BSM do everything they can to vilify him on almost no evidence he deserves it.

I try to base my opinions on fact as much as possible. Like Scott Adams says, no one can ever have all the facts and so inevitably were are never “fully rationally”. I do my best to know just where my decisions have been emotional and stay reading to react to new information in these areas. One thing that has been verified for me in the last two days. The BSM is about the worst source of real information imagineable.

There's at least one video which proves that the vehicle in question had launched at least one individual up into the air, while it was moving forward, before stopping and going in reverse. It's as clear as day.

Now I don't know if there were any "bat" attacks that had occurred before that moment, but any assertion that the vehicle didn't hit people while it was moving forward is patently false.

It still might be a case of self-defense. The driver might have accelerated forward as a result of one of these "bat" attacks, or just out of fear or malice. That will be for a jury to decide. But I've seen some people subscribing to the notion that people were only hit when the car stopped and reversed. That is simply not true, and there is video that definitely proves it...

Yes. There was an earlier report which claimed a protester hit the car with a bat as it was speeding towards the crowd. However, according to the following still shot, it appeared to be a flag.

Again, this was as the car was speeding down the block towards the crowd. Reports are the guy was a fan of Adolph Hitler.

So, members of one side admired a mass murderer like Hitler, while large numbers of the other no doubt admired mass murderers like Mao tse Tung. ANTIFA is a combination anarchist - communist organization. The red and black symbol is the logo for Anarcho-syndicalism.

I think you're incorrect. He hit someone BEFORE that particular person swung at the back of his car.

I'll have to locate it, but there's definitely a video which shows someone flying through the air as the car is moving forward, well before the vehicle ever stops and reverses itself.

I realize there are several different videos, but I'm focusing in on the fact that the car struck pedestrians as it was rolling down the street moving forward, and not just when it stopped and then reversed itself.

So what I'm disputing is the idea that the vehicle didn't hit anyone until it was coming to a stop and then reversed itself.

Now it may very well be that, before the vehicle hit anyone while it was moving forward, it still might have been attacked first. That might very well be the kind of fact that a jury must decide.

This guy could very well get off the hook if it is established that he was in fear for his life as a result of pedestrians attacking him before anyone was hit.

But, to reiterate, the vehicle did send at least one person flying through the air while moving forward "at speed", well in advance of any deceleration and reversal. That fact should not be in dispute, and if it is, then someone is missing a critical video clip...

The frames I have seen show him at least tapping the brakes before he hit anyone, then the hit on the left rear fender, then gas, move forward at speed about twenty feet, then hit a car and then reverse.
