Drudge:"CHINA WARNS AMERICA: DON'T GO FIRST"

BEIJING (Reuters) - If North Korea launches an attack that threatens the United States then China should stay neutral, but if the United States attacks first and tries to overthrow North Korea's government China will stop them, a Chinese state-run newspaper said on Friday.

It can be argued that the situation with India is an attempt to deflect attention from the debacle that is north Korea

The USA has always maintained a launch on warning.

I don’t disagree, but aiming “near” Guam provides plenty of gray area for misinterpretation.

Do you think the “Guam missile tests” will proceed?

Even for an announced “missile test” with non-nuclear rockets?

A lot of gray area open to misinterpretation and escalation.

Perhaps a missile gets hacked and heads west toward China. Things do go wrong sometime

So who gets to be the hostages? What Americans are going to have to die before we’re justified in squashing Wei Tu Fat?

Make no mistake. China holds NK in its grasp. If China allows this to happen, all trade with China should cease immediately. Chinese government is playing us for saps.

yeah - just start WW3 and kill millions because we can

Not sure what your point is.

Do you believe that all wars are bad?

Do you believe that WWIII will not happen?

At some point one of these rogue nations that have nuclear weapons will use them on the United States. The left has almost guaranteed that to the world the US is the EVIL empire and anything to destroy is really ok.

At some point in time the US will need to defend herself. The question now is before or after nuclear weapons are used against us.

Is it your desire to sit and wait for the first explosion before we are allowed to respond?

A gentle reminder, we (the US along with other allied nations) are still in a state of conflict with North Korea. All that occurred in 1953 was an uneasy cease fire. Hostilities can break out at any time.

I read once that a threat against the US should not be judged by intention but by capabilities. For years North Korea’s rhetoric has been over the top, but their capability to harm the US mainland was limited. This has changed. Their capability will soon match their rhetoric.

What would you do in this situation?

By allowing China to save face the situation is, at least for now defused and relations with the PRC are not fractured.

Yes, let us kick that can down the road again. Hell let us ship a billion dollars to NK so they can improve the accuracy of their missiles.

If China would have said that all Nuclear programs must stop, all existing Nuke be destroyed under international supervision, then yes, we can sit back and do nothing.

China is doing what communist have done forever. Three steps forward, one step back. That is they push and push until confronted and they concede small things to buy time. They have long range plans.

All previous administrations had done nothing but kick the can down the road and bribe the NK to be good little children. Well they took what we gave them and continued to build nukes. Why do you think they will do anything different now?

As for thinking China will help them, do you really think the US would not respond to an attack just because China might get involved? If China wants war, they will get one. If China wants peace they will take out NK nukes themselves.

In the end China needs to ask themselves do they want to take on the US?

Remember, I live on Guam.

So no, I don’t want N. Korea shooting missiles towards my house.

But, the gray area can be ironed out or clarified and it shouldn’t take that long. If I were T-Rex I’d be on the telephone right now asking the PRC “What constitutes starting something?” “How near Guam, Honolulu, Sapporo, Tokyo, Seoul, Guam or Saipan is near enough to be provocative?”

I expect that to happen.

As part of the clarification process I’d also state that the US has no intention of invading N. Korea and that any joint military exercises between US and S Korean troops should not be considered provocation. If N. Korea doesn’t launch an attack they will not be attacked; period, full-stop. That is the real trap here not the overt missile launch by N. Korea. We don’t want N. Korea to claim that joint military maneuvers are enough provocation to start a war hoping the PRC will help.

Once again behind the scenes I’d sort of mention, “You know guys, N. Korea having these nuclear tipped missiles makes Japan and S. Korea nervous. Unlike us big powers who are more responsible N. Korea seems to not be very responsible. If they keep nuclear weapons then how can we refuse S. Korea and Japan from making some. And hey, if S. Korea and Japan go nuclear then do think Vietnam, The Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and TAIWAN would be far behind?”

China does not want those Pacific nations to be nuclear armed and able to stand up to the PRC’s neo-Imperial designs

If this new policy by the PRC keeps N. Korea from making random threats every 6-months it is a win and a huge step forward. It means they can no longer use threats as bribes for foreign aid.

The specific terms can be clarified but this is a game changing win in that it changes the relationship between the PRC and the DPRK.

Just my opinions.

Range safety during a typical *controlled* ballistic missile interception costs north of several million dollars. Firing live missiles is always fraught with danger. Sort of like starting a shoot out in Times Square. But they drew first.

BS, and we’re to believe China? It’ll support Norks no matter what.

China with that policy positions itself to be the protector of the norks while they continue their nuclear and ballistic missile programs. It was basically a mutual defense statement- not good. China needs to say to the norks ‘stop your nuclear weapons programs, destroy any weapons built, stop your icbm programs and destroy those facilities’ period. Anything less and we should completely stop ALL trade with China.

“Yes, let us kick that can down the road again. Hell let us ship a billion dollars to NK so they can improve the accuracy of their missiles.”

Getting N. Korea to stop making random threats for aid is a huge win. What China just did does that.

This does not give N. Korea any aid, cash or technology. It does not make any concession to them.

If they can’t threaten to start a war then they can’t extort concessions anymore. This new Chinese policy does that.

If they can’t threaten other nations then the region is more peaceful.

Unlike the agreement that Mrs Clinton signed when he was president (Intentional slight) with N. Korea this new policy, which I am sure was hammered out behind the scenes between the US and PRC doesn’t give N. Korea any money.

This is a huge win for Trump. It is not a complete win but it is a big one.

For sure. They’ve built their army on American dollars and stolen American technology. This goes all the way back to Nixon. And W Bush just pushed it along.

In the late 90s I lived on Orote Point, and we used to ride our bikes out near the tip for the amazing view. I sailed in and out of Apra Harbor many, many times, and dived on lots of reefs beneath stunning cliffs.

After naming NK in the Axis o’ Evil and continues his bromance with Mooch Obama whose beard literally propelled Iran and NK to its current level of threat.

Iran must have some fool-proof plan to end the deep state, the way the deep state defers and caters to it.

Looks like the United States is supposed to get permission from China to defend ourselves. How many Americans vaporized does China require to satisfy their conditions of neutrality? How many cities? Are they in a generous mood?
