Chinas government drew a line in the sand Friday, saying it would remain neutral if North Korea attacks the U.S. but would defend its Asian neighbor if the U.S. strikes first, Chinese state media reported.
The Chinese response follows a week filled with a number of hot-headed proclamations between North Korea and the U.S.
On Wednesday, North Korea released a statement saying it would follow through with a plan to launch four missiles toward the U.S. territory of Guam by mid-August Meanwhile, other Asia-Pacific countries have come out in support of the United States. Japans defense minister, Itsunori Onodera, said this week that his nations military was ready to shoot down North Korean missiles if necessary.
Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Thursday that a war with North Korea would be catastrophic, following President Trumps string of warnings to the rogue nation.

Thank you, free traitors, for conning us into paying for their military instead of ours.
Paging all the China won’t get involved crowd.
and China will be most favored trading partner up until the day the U S disappears. We aren’t a nation, we are a corporation, run by the merchants. In fact, “ our merchants are the great men of the Earth”
One mask from China is removed. China wears many masks and Trump has fleshed this one out.
That makes absolutely no sense.
Reply to China: Then the US will arm Taiwan with 60-80 nukes, just to even it out. All Chinese exchange student in the US are expelled back to China. And, the 1.2 trillion we owe you will be forgotten— by us.
Yes.
The “free traders” are on completely the wrong side. Have been for over one entire generation.
Now, suddenly, they see that.
Everyone sees that.
Because the PRC shouldn’t be held responsible for what its catspaw does.
SNORT.
There is the signal to allow Trump to needle the little fatso into doing something very predictable as everyone knows he will. Then China will no longer have this albatross hanging on their necks.
When he does light off the rockets headed to wherever, they will be shot down while at the same time unloading the two boomers we know about just lurking around in the sea of Japan on the entire known artillery and missile sites. Then the on rotation lurking B1’s will smoke Pyongyang. Followup will be the other boomers not in port in Washington.
If, and if his junior military officers have not initiated a revolt, the B2’s will then come in off deck for the cleanup spot.
This is just the biggies. The defenses in and around the 38th will unleash a parallel assault on the known and newly exposed artillery placements in addition to the mobile units being painted by IR and subsequent laser marks.
Maybe 12 hours and it will be all over.
One does not have to land. Pig face has already made known his intentions, so all that is needed is one more launch that we have a reliable expectation we can take it out and have THAD placements to take a few shots at it if necessary along its path.
How do you think the Norks got long-range ballistic missile technology? Nuclear weapons technology? How did they miniaturize nukes so quickly?
So now that the Norks can be the "wild card" foil in Asia - and China can pretend that they aren't involved - we are stuck with an internationally dangerous North Korea and China can pretend to be uninvolved.
By telling us "not to strike first", they're telling us to allow the Norks to complete their nuclear delivery arsenal unimpeded.
A King Solomon like decision
Wonder why we never shot down one of his “test” missiles, just as a test.
90% of North Koreas trade is with China. They could shut down lil Fat Boy in a heartbeat. The “solution” to the NK problem is and always has been economic sanctions by Beijing.
So if we strike North Korea first.........which side are they saying they will be on????
Why should we reveal our capabilities to China, Russia or N. Korea?
And what about Russia?

Despite efforts by the United Nations to impose isolating sanctions on North Korea in response to the countrys continued development of nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles, trade between Russia and North Korea soared more than 85 percent in the first four months of the year.
