Hard to identify the casus beli, even if this is a political assassination, because he can be said to have acted on his own, sort of like John Brown’s raids or the sacking of Lawrence, KS. No. It was some goof that heard about a .380 ACP pistol being used in a crime. And 380 is SO much bigger than 9 or 45. Can you imagine such a powerful weapon in the hands of civilians?

Pardon my ignorance. But my first pistol that I owned legally was a .38 caliber snub-nosed S&W revolver. .380 is a different bore than .38? My algebra teacher would have kittens. 380 would be 380 inches. I don’t know if artillery comes that big.

You are correct. A.380 is 380 thousandths of an inch in diameter. Technically, your .38 was about .357 inches. Calibers get odd labels, sometimes. A .270 Winchester fires a projectile of .277 inch diameter.

Thank you for clearing that up. I wasn’t sure if I was hearing wrong, or some MSM idiot was claiming that the assailant used a ship’s cannon off the Iowa to kill the local Republican, which wouldn’t surprise me.
