“Aluminum bubble wrap is used for insulation.. We hang it on the inside of the sliding glass doors in summer.”
It is a reflector, not an insulator.

We use foil ALOT in cooking. Most anything going in the oven has either foil or parchment paper. Saves ALOT of cleanup!

Wrap California in foil and apply heat.
That reserves the shape.
The transfer of heat will sterilize the contents.

It can be used for proton dosimetry if the protons are over 30 MeV. Expose the foil to the proton beam, then put it in a
HPGe scintillator and look for Na24 gamma photons. Determine the amount of Na24 that was created at exposure time,
and using the cross section, calculate how many protons hit the foil. This method avoids the obvious problems using
CaF2:Mn as its not sensitive to beam photons.

I want to connect it to the internet and track usage by day as well as a reorder point. First I need to get my wife to get it off the roll right and not get funny shaped half pieces out.

Aluminum foil makes a great fuse when you don’t want to run to the store to get a replacement. I like to use foil fuses for strands of Christmas lights. Not UL approved!

Aluminum bubble wrap is used for insulation..It's not the aluminum that's doing the insulating. The insulation comes from the air trapped in the bubbles. The aluminum reflects the heat.

Take a flat sheet of foil 10x10 and solder a wire to one corner. Take a sheet of wax paper 11x11 and lay it on top centered. Now take another sheet of foil 10x10 with a wire soldered to the opposite corner and lay it on top centered. Roll the assembly into a tight roll and tape closed.
Makes a dandy capacitor.
