Federal court strikes down EPA rule key to Obama's climate agenda
Washington Examiner ^ | Aug 8, 2017 | John Siciliano

The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals' 2-1 decision said EPA does not have the authority to enact a 2015 rule-making ending the use of hydrofluorocarbons commonly found in spray cans, automobile air conditioners and refrigerators. The three-judge panel said that because HFCs are not ozone-depleting substances, the EPA could not use a section of the Clean Air Act targeting those chemicals to ban HFCs.

In this case, with U.S. chemical companies Honeywell International Inc. and The Chemours Co. supporting the rule, Trump’s Justice Department defended the regulation. Arkema SA of France and Mexichem SAB de CV of Mexico brought the lawsuit against EPA.

“give me FREON or give me death!”

Well, it hasn’t come to that quite yet, but when they took CFCs out of inhalers and replaced it with something else, it has come close to doing in some who have asthma and other respiratory ailments. Not only do the new inhalers not work worth a crap, but since they were reformulated, companies got to call them “new”. That meant no generics any more and the cost of the new inhalers went up drastically.

There have been a few occasions that I ended up making more than one trip to the doctor and having to take antibiotics and steroids, because my inhalers are useless.

Just another gift to humanity from the enviro-Nazis. I guess they want to help solve pollution by killing off everyone who has lung problems.

I didn’t know there were still two Republican appointed judges left on “Obama’s Court”!
Even the Obama judge concurred in part.

Honeywell and Chemours, a DuPont spinoff, were among the most active backers of a move away from a profitable chemical that has long been the foundation for the fast-growing air-conditioning and refrigeration business.

The companies were driven less by idealism than by intense competition, and a bet that they could create more environmentally friendly alternatives.
