Trump Makes It Official, Tells The UN We’re Getting Out Of The Paris Accord
The Daily Caller ^ | August 5, 2017 | Tim Pearce

The Trump administration notified the United Nations Friday that the U.S. intends to officially withdraw from the Paris climate accord, the Department of State announced.

Following the procedure laid out in the agreement, the United States will withdraw “as soon as it is eligible to do so.”

The earliest the U.S. can begin officially withdrawing from the accord is Nov. 4, 2019, under the terms of the Paris agreement. The notice to the UN is largely ceremonial, and the earliest a full withdrawal can be finalized is November 2020, one year after official proceedings have begun, The Hill reports.

President Donald Trump announced he would pull the country out of the agreement in a June 1 speech in the Rose Garden. Trump claimed the accord was “less about the climate and more about other countries gaining a financial advantage over the United States.”

Former President Barack Obama joined into the Paris climate accord in 2016, promising to cut U.S. greenhouse gas emission and donate $3 billion to the Green Climate Fund (GCF), created as a means for developed countries to subsidize green energy projects in poorer countries. Obama put $1 billion in the fund before Trump took office.

I certainly hope Trump does not give them any more money.

It’s only smart to do this, every signer except America gets a sweet deal and we’re paying for it all. China and India don’t have to participate until 2030, and India still doesn’t have to play until we pay them $1.5 trillion, that’s just a couple of examples of what a crock this whole thing is, so of course Buttcrack Hussein was happy to sign it. He never saw a screwjob on America that he didn’t like.

I tell that to every liberal I meet.

“I don’t care about 2019. Stop giving them money now.”

Not one effing dime more. Our exit means nothing if we have to continue spending on this global boondoggle.

Agreed!!

I dont give a #### what Great News the MSM doesn’t print or tell.

51 percent of Americans, at least, are not stupid. They’ll SEE the economy getting better, insane PC nonsense disappearing, and other changes and they will Love Trump for it.

Didn’t we ALL learn how WORTHLESS the msm is during the election.

They had NO effect. Maybe helped Trump.

It was never binding anyway.

Then why should the US wait until 2019 to start getting out.

President Trump should explain that it was never ratified and that the ObucketOshit just signed it and that is not GOOD enough because he is not a GOD and get US OUT NOW.

Wait, that is more than 100 characters...........lol /s

“How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?” They don’t. They plan on controlling us.

And they are doing a pretty dang good job of it.

Murderers are getting away with murder thanks to a do nothing AG that hailed from Congress. If a Grand Jury had as much evidence against a normal citizen that citizen would be indicted immediately.

Purgery takes place every time a person holds their hand on a bible in front of Congress and NONE are arrested but if we would do it we would fined ourselves under the jail living on bread and water.

The IRS lets these Congress critters get away with owing millions upon millions of back taxes but when we owe pennies in comparison, the US Marshall service will show up on our steps with cuffs in hand.

These aholes up inside the beltway keep talking about a reset. Yeah we need a reset alright that I can agree with. A reset caused by a huge RAMPAGE.

Yes, I know. It is just how officially corrupt everything is. I would have to assume it is just closing out the paper work now. Won’t affect policy or decision making.

The president is open to reentering the Paris agreement “if the United States can identify terms that are more favorable to it, its businesses, its workers, its people, and its taxpayers,” the State Department said.

I wish he'd drop the crap because it isn't fooling anyone. The rest of the world has no interest in renegotiating the accord with the U.S. The U.S. has no interest in renegotiating the accord with the rest of the world. And everyone knows it.

As this treaty was never ratified by the Senate, it was never valid in the first place.
