The Trump administration is allowing customs officers to screen all cargo trucks coming into the U.S. in an effort to crack down on Mexican drug cartels.
Under the Obama administration agents would only conduct random inspections allowing cartels to run their concealed loads through the border, but border security forces will now use technology to screen every cargo truck.
According to the Department of Transportation about 471,000 trucks pass through the U.S.-Mexico border on a monthly basis.
Officials say cartels often use other routes to transport drugs, but their preferred method is driving through a port of entry.

This could lose us the drug cartel vote. And in California, that’s quite a chunk of the electorate.
Wait till they get to a favored crossing spot and find a big beautiful barrier wall....aka fence.
Obama needed to keep the spice flowing.
As a yute he couldn’t always afford cocaine and marijuana.
Not fair , Obama had a deal ,LOL
I’m all about the Constitution and it’s many protections. Although, with some recent court decisions, it would appear that some judges, around the country, do not feel the same way. However, when it comes to the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendment, I’m thinking that they need to be modified in some way, where they only apply to American’s and others, that are NOT INVOLVED WITH THE CARTELS AND BRINGING TONS AND TONS AND TONS OF cocaine, meth and heroin into this country. Here’s my proposal.
If you are caught bringing any contraband back:
1. The drugs are identified and immediately destroyed.
2. The vehicle they’re driving will get a quick appraisal. If it’s good working order, it will be seized and sold at auction.
3. If the person is an foreign national, they are sent back to Mexico, with all the appropriate biometrics and if they EVER try to come into the US or are caught in the US, it will be a mandatory 2 yrs in prison. No questions asked. Go directly to the nearest jail.
There’s no reason taxpayer money should be spent, any longer, on illiterate mules that flood the border checkpoints every day, in the hopes that they don’t get caught up in the roulette wheel. No reason to spend money prosecuting, storing the drugs, etc etc etc., pouring all the money down the drain. And I would think, that any punishment meted out to them, by the cartels, would be far worse than spending time in an American prison.
It’s good to have an American president who isn’t always coming up with ways to ruin the country.
Electronic wall
Regardless of condition, it should be seized and sold as scrap if necessary..................

They should spend 2 years in prison the 1st time, 10 the next......................
“Drug Cartels Fuming At New U.S. Border Truck Inspections”
Did the Association for Latin American Drug Cartels put out a press release?
— this is a great thing, another positive due to Trump. But the headline is kind of funny.
Great, let’s also see how much human cargo they find.
Ever since Reagan all we've had are treasonous globalists sacrificing us at the altar of political correctness.
.3......that’s my point. why should we even pay that tab, at first. They’ll probably get chopped into pieces by the Cartel when they’re found walking back home. That way, we NEVER have to deal with them again.
If they’re forced to come back a second time by the Cartels, sneak back over or get rolled up in a raid/locked up by the locals, then it’s directly to prison for them
We shouldn’t be footing the bill for and filling our prisons with 3rd world, illiterates unless we absolutely have to.
Isn’t that just the saddest thing?! Thank goodness, THIS administration’s top priority is NOT kissing cartel butt.
Border Patrol should hire a technology company to begin the technical search for underground tunnels under the border through which drugs may be transported into the US.
Mike takes care of Cargo trucks and drivers
They are shipping product through the normal legal points of entry in tractor-trailers.
Yeah, the cartels don’t take failure as an option. The mule would be killed..................
Wont work, that is a get out of jail free card. They have an endless supply of people to use. I would rather we contract with Mexico to incarcerate them there.
They’re foreign nationals attempting to smuggle illegal drugs into the US. They have NO legal recourse whatsoever.
So you confiscate their vehicle(s) and cargo. Then you detain, ID, and hold said traffickers in detainment without access to our legal system, because they ARE NOT US CITIZENS. And then ICE/CBP will deliver them into the custody of the mexican federales.
If said individuals attempt to come into the US ever again, then they are to be summarily executed on the spot at the border.
This how you deal with corrupt narco-terrorist regimes like mexico. This will be the only thing that they understand.
If they push back, then we double down on the enforcement.
If the cartels and their federale buddies start cross-border skirmishes, then it’s US military smackdown time.
This is how you deal with thugs.
If you don’t have the stomach for it, or you don’t think it’s “politically correct”, then you have already lost and surrendered.
