Earlier this year, President Donald Trump was shown a disturbing video of Syrian rebels beheading a child near the city of Aleppo. It had caused a minor stir in the press as the fighters belonged to the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement, a group that had been supported by the CIA as part of its rebel aid program.
The footage is haunting. Five bearded men smirk as they surround a boy in the back of a pickup truck. One of them holds the boy’s head with a tight grip on his hair while another mockingly slaps his face. Then, one of them uses a knife to saw the child’s head off and holds it up in the air like a trophy. It is a scene reminiscent of the Islamic State’s snuff videos, except this wasn’t the work of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s men. The murderers were supposed to be the good guys: our allies.

This is really not that hard to figure out. Read a few history books and - wham - it hits you over the head. Sunnis and Shias have been at each other's throats (literally) from almost the beginning of Islam. And each side dreams of a caliphate that theair side runs and everyone else is a heretic. And they have bloody, bloody battles over their religious differences. Always have, always will.
I'm with the President's decision on this but will he be the first person to actually realize that we cannot win a religious civil war between Muslims ... because we are not Muslims ... and because no matter which side wins they will be Muslims with a mandate to convert everyone else?

I know our US Constitution forbids banning a religion but is Islam really a religion? I say no. Assuming the argument can be made and validated by the courts that Islam is a cult made up by some pedophile madman from the deserts of the middle east in the 13 century AD; Islam could be banned in America. It should be banned in America with all mosques shuttered or bull dozed down. All muslims who won't swear off the cult of Islam and be an apostate must leave. Period.
If Europe did this now it might survive and maintain its culture. If not; it's a dead group of cultures walking. It's not a matter of when but only if and it will never improve there. Never unless Islam is banned there too. Period.

Under Obama, I opposed intervention in Syria. My position then was that Assad is a terrible person, but any alternative with a chance of victory is far worse. That situation has not changed, so my position has not changed. If we overthrow Assad, Syria will be no better for its own people and far worse for the West.
It's worse than that. Barry's mother & possibly his grandfather fit the mold of CIA plants -- making Barry the Agency's pawn. Think about it.
Except this is neither a religious war nor a civil war
Its a multi- dimension proxy war between Saudi/Gulf and Iran, between Turkey and Kurds, between US and Russia, between Israel and Syria/ Iran
Religion is used as a recruiting and cohesion tool and political reform is used as a cover fior western occupation
but the real struggle is about occupying territory and controlling resources - which is aka “ power”
