Poll reveals 1 in 3 Californians support 'Calexit'

A recent poll suggests one in three California residents would support a possible secession from the U.S. because of their opposition to President Donald Trump.

"There's such hostility towards Trump that many citizens believe it would be smarter to leave than fight," Democratic political strategist Steve Maviglio told Reuters.

A Reuters survey revealed that 32 percent support the so-called “Calexit,” an increase of 12 percent since the last poll was conducted in 2014.

Why would there be a war? Who listens to chicken hawks anyway?

Generally, the implication is that chickenhawks lack the moral character to participate in war themselves, preferring to ask others to support, fight and perhaps die in an armed conflict.

Tucker had a Calexit supporter on tonight and not once mentioned the Civil War.

I hope they do leave. 55 electoral votes gone Dem.

Allow them to come back after they collapse into even more of a hell hole, but only as a territory.

Agree with your comments. We should support it.

Also consider the North Korean situation. If they launched five nukes at our five largest cities, the U.S. would be Republican for the next two generations.

NOT that I wish that’d happen. But look where all the Democrats are — all lumped together in big cities. NY, LA, Chicago, DC, San Fran, Detroit (what’s left of it), etc.

That’s the point of my post, there wouldn’t be any. Just a few sanctions if our government chose to do so. They are much more vulnerable than the south ever was.

It would be interesting to see Chuck Schumer go all militant and send the troops into CA to quell the rebellion.

Yessss.

While Jim Robinson is from CA, we all understand that Conservatives still live in CA, they unfortunately will be the minority. But they will know the huge bye product of the succession is that liberals will be outnumbered in the USA.

Caexit needs to be encouraged.

Check out this book:

People’s Republic
by Kurt Schlichter

It imagines a disunion of the states where the libs break off into a People’s Republic, which quickly become hell holes.

Plot of the book is a mercenary is hired to rescue a kid from California.

An entertaining read and a prequel just came out as well entitled INDIAN COUNTRY. It covers an armed conflict in a border state area as the two countries separate.

Sure smarta$$ send me a link...

Seems you have never read Miss Manners.

Yeah, I have read the Constitution—like that matters in this day and age.

SO nice of you to interject no information...just snark...I make a legit comment, asked a question attempting to get information and it was NOT even addressed to you!!

Not only was your comment insulting and condescending, but Your comment provided no helpful information...

So mr Constitutional know-it-all (tho your profile shows no such credentials), just what are YOU trying to prove besides insulting a long-time Freeper?

They can?
They can’t?
They can without a congressional vote?

Weird... the article links to another article dated in JANUARY. I was thinking, “An increase of 12%? I saw 32% in January!”

No, that would make the GVT smaller in that the number of EVs are based on the number in congress.

So the US Congress would just redistribute CA’s congressional numbers among the remaining states.

CA, or any other state(s), can secede form the union. It is not unconstitutional.

Given how most of the world’s governments lean left nowadays, California would instantly gain considerable international support once it became independent. Dozens of embassies would open in Sacramento, and the United Nations, the European Union and other international organizations would offer diplomatic support and economic aid. California’s armed forces would soon be armed with weapons from China and maybe Russia.

Actually if they’re considering going, it should be a nationwide referendum - I’d sure vote “yes”....

Coincidentally, approximately 1 in 3 Californians is Hispanic.

Well, I’m definitely in favor of 1 in 3 kommiefornians getting the heck out of America. Preferably we could deport the fags, cross dressers, addicts, communists, wetbacks, and a few other categories. That list would probably add up to a third of the population.
