I recently got a book from the library called “Paper” by Mark Kurlansky. It’s basically the history of paper making.
The book correctly notes that paper was first made in China and says some interesting things about the importance of paper as any society needs to advance.
But probably half of the book is about the fabulous wonders of Islam, and the advances of Islam, and the importance to civilization of Islam. It seems arbitrary and forced in my opinion.
But human history is (apparently) the story of Islam.
All of Islam is a photographic negative to reality. For example, "freedom and justice" means "Freedom from the laws of man, the justice of Sharia." Too few people understand this.

What you might not know, is that he attempted to reach the moon, two years later, and could very well have succeeded!”
