This is the next one to keep an eye on. Lots of smoke that could very well be a fire.

I really don’t understand this stuff.

I keep thinking of the Dark Knight scene where the accountant decides to blackmail Bruce Wayne because Bruce Wayne is Batman. Morgan Freeman explains that blackmailing a billionaire who is also a masked vigilante who pulverizes bad guys, is not a good plan.

Trump is a billionaire. He is your boss. He is the president. Being on good terms with him would pay enormous dividends and would be patriotic.
OR
You could stab him in the back by leaking information. Because, you know, maybe you’ll get invited to a cool party that way.

I just don’t get it.

I think in most cases the people cooperating with the deep state sold their souls or were compromised years ago. You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.

Being a war hero does not always make a good politician or
political appointment. I.E. John McCain.

The military brass is full of social justice warriors. Very hard to find a traditional General with any testosterone still in the service.

I agree, knew several soldiers who served with him over the years, always had the utmost respect for him. This just doesn’t pass the smell test to me.

I could be wrong, but I think not.

“Too many ‘booms’ for most of us older FReepers to handle...our hearing is bad enough without them.”

Due to years and years of intense firearms use.

I tried really hard to get on board when McMaster went on record saying that it was wrong to talk about Islamic terrorism because it gave the terrorists cover by saying that their actions were Islamic and it offended the Muslim allies we would need to fight the terrorists. I listened to two speech/lectures he gave.

But I was always unconvinced as though talked into a high profit margin lemon by a salesman. Straight talk is always best. These are Islamic folks murdering, maiming & raping in the name of Allah. If the other Muslim want to disown them its on them to make it clear; not on us to pussyfoot.

I am a believer in common sense, walks like a duck, quacks like a duct, profile it as a duck and take appropriate precautions.

McMasters passes along White House exchanges and activities to McCabe.

McCabe passes the info to the “Special *Persecutor* Muellar to manipulate at will and as necessary to implicate Trump, keeping this “investigation” alive as long as necessary.

Too simple.

I try to look at these things logically and wonder if they make sense. What we do know is that Scaramucci got in there for just a day or two, and something he encountered was so unbelievable that he went off the rails. If there's a McCabe/McMasters situation, it's tough to believe Priebus didn't know, unless he was trying very hard not to know. And Jared and Ivanka were there just about full time, and they didn't know? Are they that non-astute about their surroundings?

Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised. Whenever someone who isn't part of The Invisible Hand tried to run for president.....Eugene McCarthy, Goldwater, Quayle, Dennis Kucinich, Huckabee, Sanders (the list goes on), the marginalization and attacks are unrelenting.

President Trump got through. This is a coup against him we're experiencing. Do we have to begin worrying about a full-blown Civil War?

Does it make sense that McMasters/McCabe could be playing for the bad guys? Yeah. I'm glad that President Trump has brought a military man, and one who has proved his loyalty, in as Chief of Staff.

It’s a mistake to believe that the Deep State can’t suck in good people - it happens all the time.

That may be so, but there must be open and reliable lines of communication between the National Security Advisor and the FBI - extremely important.

“From Day 1 McMaster struck me as an insincere, butt-kissing slime-ball”

Just because Obama had to keep shaking him off his leg?

Not if you've been lead to believe his tenure is very temporary and business as usual will return in short order.

And, not, if you think patriotism is for chumps.

Seems the dopes in the GOP with “Mc” in front of their names are steaming piles of excrement... McMaster, McCabe, McConnell, McCain. Who else am I missing?

Don't forget McRyan...

McMaster is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Too many people confuse those who want America to be an aggressive world policeman with those who want American sovereignty aggressively defended.

All sides in any war have heroic generals and leaders. That tells us nothing about what their vision of the future is.

Military and combat service may not make one a conservative, but I think it would indicate the person to be a patriot. And havi g been exposed to all things Donald Trump for 30+ years I can say that Pres. Trump is many things, a Free Republic consrrvative is not necessarily one of them.
