Sperm was frozen after Liu was killed in the line of duty
(Newser) A New York City police officer has become a father more than two years after he was killed in the line of duty. Wenjian Liu was 32 years old and had been married for less than three months when he was shot and killed alongside fellow officer Rafael Ramos on Dec. 20, 2014, by a man who had made anti-police postings online.
Sperm from the fallen officer was retrieved and frozen the same night at the request of widow Sanny Liu. The NYPD says that through in-vitro fertilization, Liu gave birth to a healthy daughter named Angelina in New York on Tuesday, ABC 7 reports.
Friend Maria Dziergowski says Liu's parents were at the hospital within hours to meet their new granddaughter.
"The parents were very emotional, crying and holding the baby," she tells the New York Post. Liu says the night after her husband was shot dead in his patrol car, she dreamt that he was handing her a baby girl, reports NBC New York. After getting pregnant, she says, "I told my friend, 'It's going to be a baby girl.' My friend said, 'No, you haven't even checked the sonograms,' but I was right." She says she will tell her daughter that her father was a heroand she is looking forward to introducing her to the NYPD, her "big blue family." (At the officer's funeral, police turned their backs on Mayor Bill de Blasio.)

God bless the little girl and her mother.
Going to be interesting to see how insurance and police benefits are allotted. I suppose his surviving wife is receiving something and as his kid is his kid certainly would have received some if alive at the time of the officers death. I am not saying the kid should not get them now, what I wonder is how the fine print reads and who’s going to interpret it.
Should offsprings of sperm donors be entitled to the inheritence?
That is the question. And what is the precedent?
What was the protest for that they turned their backs on him?
I don’t recall this or forgot the reason.
“Should offsprings of sperm donors be entitled to the inheritance?”
Good question. In this case, I imagine the widow received the inheritance and the child will receive the funds via her. That being said, what if the widow had been pregnant in her first month when her husband had been killed? IMHO, this type of case is probably relatively rare. For the widow’s sake and her in-laws.... they must be extremely happy that a part of him is left in this beautiful little baby.
If the couple is married, as in this case, I don’t see any problem. Denial of inheritance is not brought up in the case of abortion.
Leave it to New York City to turn a tragedy into a freak show.
What was the protest for that they turned their backs on him?
For his siding with the Black Lives Matter movement, who bogusly claimed some high-profile police shootings were motivated by racism.
'Rev' is for revolutionary.
'Com' is for communist.
Revcom.us bills itself as "the voice of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA." The explicit objective is to overthrow our constitutional republic and replace it with an oligarchical collectivist dictatorship along the lines of North Korea and the Soviet Union.
Why would advocates of a communist police state agitate against the police? Because as leftists used to admit openly, the issue is never the issue.. This isn't about the police, any more than it is about blacks. It is about destabilizing the system so as to create opportunities to weaken it and eventually overthrow it.
That's what community organizing boils down to. These people have taken over the executive branch of the federal government; why would they stop there?
The next hill they take will be federal control of local police. After that, things will start to get scary.

From the website of the Revolutionary Communist Party (revcom.us):
"Create Public Opinion, Seize Power: We are preparing minds and organizing forces for the time when there is a major crack in the system, whenever it comes and wherever it comes from: an opening that makes it possible to bring the future Revolutionary Army of the Proletariat (R.A.P.) into the field and wage a revolutionary armed struggle that actually has a chance of winning.
And we have said that building our party itself is the most important part of organizing forces for revolution. This is true now, and it is true looking forward to the creation of that future R.A.P. and the waging of that armed struggle.":

The 1992 LA/Rodney King riots were instigated by the Revolutionary Communist Party...
From David Horowitz's FrontpageMag.com /DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
"Throughout its history, one of RCP's [Revolutionary Communist Party] principal objectives has been to foment civil unrest in the United States. The most notable example of such efforts occurred on April 29, 1992, when RCP members looted and trashed the downtown and government districts of Los Angeles, triggering the infamous Rodney King riots. During the days immediately preceding the violence, RCP -- which maintained close ties to the L.A. gangs known as the Crips and the Bloods -- had circulated throughout South Central Los Angeles a leaflet featuring a statement by RCP National Spokesman Carl Dix, titled 'It's Right To Rebel' -- a quote popularized by Mao Zedong.
Encouraged by Dix, RCP activists helped lead the riots that would leave 58 people dead, more than 2,300 people injured, some 5,300 buildings burned, and $1 billion in property damaged or destroyed. On the ten-year anniversary of the rioting, RCP member Joseph Veale fondly recalled the violence as 'the most beautiful, the most heroic civil action in the history of the United States.'"

I find it strange that the widow requested the dead man’s sperm be frozen the night he was murdered. Basically, he donated after death.
Inheritance is one thing, taxpayer funded benefits is another.
First, every male who impregnates a female, whether through copulation or AI, is a sperm donor. Second, the deceased officer was her husband, not an anonymous sperm donor, so their child should qualify for whatever benefits are due her. His death was in the line of duty, so that adds an extra layer of responsibility to pay whatever benefits a due.
Inheritance is one thing, taxpayer funded benefits is another.
Amen.
