WASHINGTON (AP) President Donald Trump has spoken with advisers about firing Attorney General Jeff Sessions, as he continues to rage against Sessions decision to recuse himself from all matters related to the Russia investigation.
The presidents anger again bubbled into public view Monday as he referred to Sessions in a tweet as beleaguered. Privately, Trump has speculated aloud to allies in recent days about the potential consequences of firing Sessions, according to three people who have recently spoken to the president. They demanded anonymity to discuss private conversations.
Trump often talks about making staff changes without following through, so those who have spoken with the president cautioned that a change may not be imminent or happen at all. What is clear is that Trump remains furious that the attorney general recused himself from the investigations.

Laurence Tribe? Why should we believe him? :-)
I think DJT is tweeting about Jeff for the media’s consumption.
FWIW, I think I just heard on ABC (I am stuck somewhere where it is on) that Sessions offered to resign and Trump said he would not accept the resignation.
Rachael brand has been confirmed by senate
Trump is bullying Sessions to quit. Install Brand. Fire mueller
What he is doing to Sessions hacks me off. The guy was loyal to him in public when no one wanted to touch him.
Cankles or not at least she had some bigger gonads than church mouse Sessions.
Because it makes sense. Surely a persons name doesnt get in the way of your reasoning and logic
Brand has already be approved by senate
With a lot of the recent rumblings about Sessions, what are your thoughts?
Indeed.
Ok, research done. I see Associate AG, and 12 Assistant AG's, head of BATF, head of US Marshal, Solicitor General, and a few others. See CRS RL30959 - Presidential Appointee Positions Requiring Senate Confirmation
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you haven't actually looked at the various places nominations are listed.
Senate Exec calendar - Out of committee, in Senate
Us Senate - Civilian Nominations - On Calendar (should be same as above)
US Senate - Civilian Nominations - In Committee
The president also "previews" some nominations via what is referred to as a formal "intention to nominate." Those are listed at the WH, but not in any "current" summary form that I am aware of.
Lawrence Tribe is a far left wing loon lawyer that Al Gore used to try to steal the election in 2000.
He is liar and con man not a source for any facts .
When do these Communist lawyers ever shut up and retire.
Tribe is the last person on earth to believe . .
Explain to me why it is not logical that Brand will replace sessions with the expectation that mueller will be fired
How does that not make sense
Un-recuse himself! Problem solved! Then go after Illary, dammit!
I was commenting on that con man Tribe , a Marxist Left wing lawyer who is clueless and won’t shut and retire.
Have no idea about that person .
Yes, well, we know the left all agrees that recusing was the correct move.
It wasn’t legally right. You don’t have to legally recuse yourself from a manufactured scandal. And, I’m not a lawyer but I don’t think you’re under any legal obligation to recuse yourself from anything. If that were the case then Kagan would have recused herself from the Obamacare case. It’s more an ethical thing, and there’s nothing unethical about not recusing yourself from a fake scandal.
Yes, MAGA is better than Sessions — if we have to choose. But I’ve been thinking that Sessions could get away with confessing error and un-recusing himself if he plans it well and does his talking points right. Am I too optimistic?
Could this all be theater? It is certainly keeping Hillary crimes in the news where before they had faded from print. Mentioned enough even slower Americans will begin to see.
DAG was nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate before he was sworn in.
And then he continues running the DOJ with this hoax in the rearview mirror.
Look, I’m inclined to think Sessions should resign, but it just sucks that the media would claim another scalp over this fabrication. And, I’m worried Trump won’t get the replacement that he wants.
There are two ways to look at that.
If there is no case, then of course there is no recusal. Recusal proceeeds on a case-by-case analysis. If "the case" is a piece of hallucinated fiction, there is no case, and any recusal is in effect, meaningless. Just for example, session has to recuse from a case where his wife is charged with a federal civil rights crime.
But make no question, Sessions has to recuse from a case that involves his wife. He also has to recuse from a case that involves the Trump campaign.
So let me get this straight. You are claiming that a republican that was a federal prosecutor..that people here want as AG is now a lefty and is wrong about sessions
FBI Director Wray has not been confirmed, but likely will be, this week.
