What he is doing to Sessions hacks me off. The guy was loyal to him in public when no one wanted to touch him.
Sessions' attitude towards enforcing federal marijuana law against a totally opposite trend throughout the several States—which is where such power legitimately lies, if one understands American federalism—illustrates how profoundly out of touch he is in terms of priorities, and in terms of contemporary thought.
Throw in the desire to increase Civil Asset Forfeiture—against a backdrop of rampant abuse—and it's almost as if Sessions is setting the table for the Left to legitimately accuse the Trump administration of being gratuitously Authoritarian.
Sessions couldn't be more out of touch. He doesn't look like an effective AG to me. Indeed, the only reason the AG still has his job is because of President Trump's loyalty to him.
But loyalty goes both ways. Even if Sessions' recusal was arguably OK, why did he blindside his own President by not consulting—or even notifying—him?
