Trump Floats Possibility Of Giuliani Replacing Sessions As AG

President Trump has floated the possibility of replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions with his steadfast ally Rudy Giuliani to serve in the top Justice Department post, Axios reported Monday.

Trump broached the idea in internal discussions about bringing in and surrounding himself with staunch supporters, sources within the West Wing told the news outlet.

Before The New York Times interview last week, Trump had already expressed anger and frustration at Sessions for recusing himself from the Russia investigation, Axios reports.

Trump, during the interview, opined that Sessions' decision to recuse himself was "unfair" to him and he would've likely picked another person to lead the Justice Department if he had known this is the move Sessions would make.

In a tweet on Monday, Trump went after Sessions, calling him “beleaguered” and questioned why the attorney general and federal investigators are not looking into Hillary Clinton for her “crimes” and ties to Russia.

How many of the people rooting for Giuliani here were calling him a RINO and worse just a year or two ago?

Trump might be the reason PIAPS is still walking around.

After the election he started up with the "she's gone through enough" and he had "no intention of prosecuting her".

Sessions might be following Trump's directive.

YES YES YES YES!!!
Sessions maybe one of the BIGGEST disappointments so far!
Would have never thought he’d be as beat as he his. I thought he’d be a pitbull, sadly I think he seems to be afraid of his own shadow.

Maybe Your man, Sessions, should have been honest to Pres. Trump and told him his first official act would be to hang him out to dry - and cause all this turmoil for 6 months, greatly impeding our chance to get the Swamp drained...while allowing the enemy to take over!

You'd never know that we hold the WH, Senate and Congress - Your boy cut us off at the knees. He opened the gate and hauled the wooden horse inside...

Seems you Alabamans should be upset with your boy instead of the President. He took the job willingly. How many of you objected at the time?

Good points and I agree.

Republicans have done a terrible job of attracting people. They just let the Dems grab most of them. We can individually do our part but the party is very lacking.

What makes you think I don’t understand this?

The only question I have on the matter is why is Sessions not prosecuting the obvious multiple felon named Hillary Clinton?

Rush is a gaslighting neverTrumper gasbag running interference for the GOPe aka #sessions.

No one played a bigger role in defeating the multiple attempts to pass amnesty since 2006 than Jeff Sessions. Whether you know that or not is irrelevant.

Rudy is not going to be the next AG. He doesn't want the job nor does he want to go thru the confirmation process. Deal with it.

And Sessions is the best choice regardless.

One would think Trump could just tell Sessions to start investigating Hillary instead of tweeting about it.

Sessions should not have to be told to investigate the crimes of Hillary Clinton (or anybody else for that matter). It should be common sense that would have told him.

Nonsense. Giuliani would not be any more of a political appointment than Sessions was.

Sorry for the confusion. I wasn't referring to Giuliani in that post. I was referring to Sekulow, who would be totally compromised as an AG not for political reasons, but because he has an inherent conflict of interest since he's serving on Trump's personal legal team right now.

Trump just needs someone aligned with his priorities for the DOJ. Sessions clearly is not.

I wouldn't make this assumption about Sessions based on what we know right now. I would never reach a conclusion like this based on: (1) Trump's Twitter posts, and/or (2) a Trump interview with the New York Times.

It's the Democrats whose leadership is all a bunch of old people, not the Republicans.

You knew the Democrat Party was a pathetic bunch of losers when the candidate who energized their young base in the primaries last year was a guy who looks like he's old enough to be Donald Trump's father. LOL.

Iffy on facts. Hmmm. I didnt realize this was a court of law instead of opinion commentary. Funny, judges never had a problem about my facts when I presented them.
