It’s just for convenience. Of course it is. Swiping a credit or debit card or, heaven forbid, paying with cash, are such hassles, wasting seconds of valuable time nearly every day. And we all know what a pain in the tuchus it is to have to type in a dozen or so characters to log in to a computer, or carry a schlage card to open a door. (How many times have I heard of people leaving their cards at home, or dropping them between the car seats? That can’t happen with your hand.) This company is just looking to make life easier for its employees, and the employees should be grateful.

If you’re ever in Las Vegas and get a room with a fridge, hold on tight. They can tell when one beverage has been removed - by weight. Please pay at the desk.
I thought it started with bar codes back in the 70s. :)
I wonder what they would do if you replaced it with one you bought somewhere else.
Is removing it buying it or is consuming it?
[ “It’s the next thing that’s inevitably going to happen, and we want to be a part of it,” Three Square Market Chief Executive Officer Todd Westby said. ]
Oh, it’s inevitable. You’re not going to want to be a part of it when you see what it turns into.....
The Tribulation and the Great Tribulation are coming.
Apparently those are the only two choices offered. Probably since most of the world is right-handed. Those missing limbs or hands on the right will get the forehead.
No difference; both result in being tossed in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 14).

Not if it is done against your will.

Over my dead body.
Chapter and verse?
This is how it will come down to not being able to buy and sell (or get a job) without a chip. Voluntary at first, then not so much.
Yes, incrementalism.
Revelation 14:9
If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
And it has to be the actual mark of the beast. Most of our combat military have been 'chipped' without their knowledge, and against their will when supposedly being vaccinated. Do you think that counts? .
“Mark of the beast is here”
Maybe not THE mark, but a precursor. Still, would any God-fearing, Bible-believing follower of Christ take such a thing into his or her body?
Your screen name is quite relevant to the discussion. I find that most Christians here in the west are quite convinced we will not be around when the antichrist and his mark arrive on the scene.
But that’s not my reading of the Bible on the matter.
It’s not the Mark of the Beast - yet.
The technology is going there, though.
It will not be an involuntary thing. Even if they put it the “Left Behind” books. Well, one of them.
[not THE mark, but a precursor]
correct
I will not comply, even to the point of death.
“If you want to get all conspiratorial youre welcome to and I cant stop you (nor would I want to waste my precious time endlessly trying). I will ask you this though: How do you know that when youre under general anesthetic for this or that that THEY are not secretly putting such things in your body anyway? The answer is that you dont. There are such things as Trust and Common Sense.”
...or tinfoil beneath your scalp /sarc
“And anyone who believes that this will not be used to track you is naive.”
I worked in HR and we did annual “anonymous” employee surveys. Most employees fell for it and believed their comments couldn’t be tracked back to them. If I was asked about it, I’d point out the bar code which I knew was unique and connected to that employee. I didn’t say a word — just pointed to the bar code.
HR would be the department to implement the microchip project. Never ever trust that Human Resources is working in the employees’ best interests.
Just like direct deposit.
