President Trump is talking to Senator Ted Cruz and others about what they would do differently as Attorney General, should Jeff Sessions resign, as reports indicate.
White House sources also report President Trump was truthful when he made comments expressing buyers remorse over appointing Jeff Sessions to the role. Trump staffers believe Sessions, Donald Trump Jr, and Rohrabacher aide Paul Behrends were unfairly scapegoated due to the left-wing Russia narrative.
In addition, a replacement for special prosecutor Bob Mueller is being acitvely discussed as the President weighs the decision to fire the Rosenstein-appointed prosecutor. Many within the Trump camp see Mueller as acting in bad faith with the investigation due to partisanship, and are urging the appointment of a truly independent alternative.
Facing criticism as a political witch hunt by many, Bob Mueller has hired a whos who of liberal activists as his team of prosecuting attorneys. Research on Mullers prosecutors is being conducted for the administration by Chuck Johnsons team. Finally, top Trump donors are funding their own research operation independent of the White House in order to push back against the medias fake Russia narrative conspiracy theory.
I agree that Sessions should fire Mueller, Rosenstein and McCabe.
Spot on - on every spot
Cruz is MORE then Sessions ever would dream to say. And frankly Cruz sticks by his principles. Never would recuse himself ad would be aggressive. I really want him on supreme court though. Life time appointment is 40 years with any luck.
Cruz has the worst political instincts of a major political figure since Dukakis.
Sessions was told by Trump not to prosecute Hillary.
I think it’s easy to fire Mueller. I think Mueller, McCabe, Rosenstein, and (unfortunately) Sessions, all gotta go. Mueller is up to his neck in conflicts. McCabe and Rosenstein too, and Sessions inexplicably got his manhood revoked and so is useless in the most important issue facing the DoJ right now.
Help me out here.
I am under the assumption that pardons are issued to people who have convicted of a crime?,
Are you suggesting that Trump should let these Kangaroo Courters continue to beat the bushes until they have hung a 'crime ' Scooter style' on his people and THEN pardon them - so's the dark side can then spend the rest of his term investigating the pardons??? (Not to mention, people's careers forever ruined.???)
You think that's the best row to hoe?
Please explain the logic in that?
Rudy - YES
and Gowdey and Chaffetz
Get these three in charge - get Sessions, Muller and rod.. out
Good idea!
I always thought Cruz should be an integral part of the Trump administration.
STE=Q
Agreed. The other approach would be to seek his disbarment on grounds that no one with the relationship Mueller has with Comey could possibly think that they do not have a conflict of interest. And that goes double for the guy who named him.
Love that guy. He on morning drive sometimes on WMAL and he is committed to finding the truth.
Exactly, and if you connect the dots that means when he was born he had "dual citizenship" and therefore does not meet the constitutional requirement for "Natural Born".
It is irrelevant that he has given up his Canadian Citizenship, he is not natural born IMHO.
Actually the US. It has to be applied for if the child is born outside the USA with a non US Parent, and the US Parent has to meet several requirements such as having lived in the USA for 5 years after the age of 14.
If was total frustration on my part dealing with US Embassy in Bangkok to get my daughter US Citizenship, it took over 3 months. They basically required a DNA test to prove I was the real father and then proof that I met the US residency requirements.

Shouldn't he become a natural-born citizen first?
Yeah...everyone knows he renounced his Canadian citizenship....but then again, where does that leave him?
Totally agree. 100$
Not only is Cruz the smartest Senator, but he is one of the most, if not the most, conservative.
If Trump and Cruz can put aside their animosity and work together, focus on the goal and not personalities, they could accomplish great things.
So he did once, Cruz does not have duel citizenship now.
If all of this is true, it’s about time.
“and are urging the appointment of a truly independent alternative.”
I nominate Ron Paul.
