Mitch McConnell refuses to pull the plug on stalled Obamacare repeal plan

It is "pretty clear there are not 50 Republicans at the moment for a replacement," McConnell said at a news conference following an all-GOP Senate lunch. But he still insisted that there would be a repeal-only vote "in the very near future." While the Kentucky Republican did not specify when that vote would be, Senate GOP whip John Cornyn told reporters afterward that the it would likely happen some time this week.

All the Republican leadership are New World Order Socialists, you don’t need to look any further for a reason. They support the Socialist agenda

Mitch is having this vote knowing that it will fail. That gives him the excuse to move on with obama revision, but keep obama care, placing blame on the fact that the senate failed to pass it. We will see.

It’s Not About The Senators. It’s about who elected them.

Sen. Shelley Moore Capito was elected in a state (WV) Trump won by over 40 points.

McConnell keeps placing Banana peels under Trump’s feet and he happily steps on them.

Let's not forget "THE RRRREST OF THE STORY" as Paul Harvey would say, ay?...

Sen. Shelley Moore Capito was elected in 2014 (that would be 2 full years before Trump's election) in a state (WV) Trump won by over 40 points.

A lot happened in those 2 years! Voters had a LOT more trust in the Republican brand.

Hmmm, there was someone else in that 2014 class...not newly elected, but re-elected. Who was it? Oh yeah!

Good old CPAC-rifle "If I'm given the opportunity to lead the U.S. Senate next year, I won’t let you down" Mitch!

Lot of water under the bridge since 2014...

Thinking of primarying the no votes:
Rand Paul is up for election in 2022.
Susan Collins: 2018 but she’s from a blue state.
Mike Lee: 2022
Jerry Moran: 2022

No, they want her there because they think her positions match theirs.

All he has to do is issue an EO, ordering the IRS to stop the “taxes” (read: fines) for not buying Obamacare, and make it RETROACTIVE back to the beginning.

Yup. And then revoke Obama’s waiver that allowed Congress to break their promise that they had to use Obamacare for their own insurance and their staff. If they love Obamacare so much, make them use it they way promised to get it passed in the first place.

I think they’ll be a lot more interested in repeal once they themselves are forced to use it.

“You want to persuade Senators, you start with their voters. Collins is in office because Maine wants her there, and they want her there because her positions match theirs.”

That’s not true in the least. Most times voters have very few choices, and it is the candidates with the big money – meaning the party connections, the politicians that can be bought, the RINOs - that are able to have the advertising to get their name out there. And most times they lie about their positions.

I think McConnell MAY want O care repealed but his “owners” and “handlers” don’t. End of story.

First of all, would Collins lose reelection because of siding with Trump on this one vote? Is Obamacare so popular in Maine that a repeal vote twould assure her defeat?

Second, unless we don’t really care about winning, putting up with this nonsense from Rinos means that we would be gambling that the political balance of power will change in Trump’s favor in the future.

It would also embolden other weak sisters and Never Trumpers to break with Trump on other issues in the future without fear of any consequences. Trump loses clout if he doesn’t use it when necessary.

I for one would take what victories can be achieved now and not gamble that things will get better for Trump someday. Too much can change to predict the future.

Also, the more Obamacare permeates our system the harder it may be to get rid of it. And this does not even consider that some of Trump’s support may disappear if people start to think he talks a good game but can’t really enact change.

It also assumes Trump and Republicans won’t be blamed for not fixing the problems with Obamacare when they had a chance to do so.
