The Democratic donor class is abuzz about Kamala Harris after the freshman California senator was feted this weekend at an event in the Hamptons surrounded by top fundraisers.
The Bridgehampton event, where Harris mingled with top donors and supporters of Hillary Clinton, was the ultimate signal that Harris is “thinking much bigger” than the Senate, one top bundler said.
ADVERTISEMENT “She’s running for president. Take it to the bank,” another fundraiser said. “She’s absolutely going to run.”
Donors say Harris is giving them a glimmer of hope when they need it the most.
They see the former prosecutor-turned-California attorney general as embodying the qualities a Democratic presidential candidate would need to win the White House in 2020.
They also see the 52-year-old African-American woman as a fresh face.
“There’s a big hunger out there for somebody new and different,” said Bill Carrick, a Democratic consultant who served as an adviser to former Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.), who challenged Harris in last year’s senatorial race.

A lot depends on Trumps true vulnerability. The Rats believe Harris is the one. They won’t put her up against an
incumbent POTUS unless they are sure. They don’t want a failed campaign hanging from her neck. I think 2024 is more likely.
Probably so. I commented after the 2008 election that it was the white guilt vote that served as the swing vote to give Obama the win. Hopefully, some of the guilt-ridden have come to their senses.
Well, by that standard Obama wasn’t ‘African American’ either...

Picking which one would get most destroyed is quite a dilemma.
Be careful what you wish for. She would be Obama Part II. She is just the sort of high yellow that the snowflakes, SJWs and media swoon over.
President Trump better up his game and take control of his administration. He is getting mugged by the Deep State on every front.
His own State Department has betrayed him countless times. Sessions is a deer in the headlights and totally lost. Ryan and McConnell have intentionally stalled his agenda. Preibus can't be trusted. Ivanka and Jared are pushing their own agenda.
A good manager delegates but President Trump has been played by many of those he trusts.

Sadly, we once we had the rule of law but that thought is now a quaint relic of the past.
I think too many people saw the ugly racial divide that Obama sowed and he has ruined it for non-white candidates for a while to come.
That coupled with the fact that people grew TIRED of his critics screaming “racist” at every turn......People should be very afraid of a President they aren’t allowed to criticize.

In a straight-forward, level-playing field, standup-fight...sure.
But one must take into account all the fraud and cheating that went on in 2008. I think that would account for higher numbers than the (still substantial) white guilt thing.
