Polar bears hurt by climate change are more likely to turn to a new food source humans is the rather chilling headline WaPo went with in its article, published Thursday. The Post reported that with higher temperatures, the more likely polar bears are to interact with humans and possibly attack and eat them.
WaPo relied on a recently-published study in the Wildlife Society Bulletin that looked at recorded polar bear attacks going back to 1870. The authors found no trend in the number of attacks by decade through 2014, which youd think would count against the claim that bear attacks increase with less ice, but you thought wrong.

My favorite stat from the IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group (PBSG) is that there were an estimated 21,000 - 25,000 bears in 2001, but the population estimate for 2015 is 22,000-31,000. IOW, the polar bear population is estimated to be INCREASING.
I know perfectly well that Penguins seldom get further north than about Madagascar, and Polar Bears almost never venture south of San Diego. So they probably rarely end up in each other’s presence, much less assemble themselves into a food chain. I was just checking if folks out there were alert.
Well, sure, but are they happy?
And more importantly, are they voting Democrat?
Maybe at the San Diego Zoo and Busch Gardens?
The "alertness" level has been sharpened by years of witnessing the crimes and catastrophes thrust upon the USA and the world by the dimwitted Demoncrats and Control-LEFT media.
Smile it is Friday News Dump Day.
They tend to favor warm liver.
A penguin once climbed Mount Everest.
That penguin had a daughter and named her in honor of Sir Edmond Hillary.
Yep, old Sir is quite a gal.
Thanks for the heads up, WaPo, but here in Canada we’ve sort of been aware of the dangers of meeting polar bears in the wild so we take along these devices called guns and ride on fast machines called snowmobiles.
You’d be surprised how few of us have ever been eaten by polar bears.
But grizzly bears, well that’s a different kettle of fish. They have trees they can hide behind while we get too close. That won’t be much of a problem in the Canadian arctic, the trees don’t grow much higher than a polar bear’s kneecap up there.
I went snowmobiling a couple of years ago.
We had four of them when I was a teenager.
They’ve changed a lot over the years.
It seems that they have ejection seats now.
Bearware!

Since I’m in southern Florida I’m not too worried about Polar Bears... but I understand that climate change might also make sharks evolve to grow legs and be able to run on dry land... that could be something to be concerned about!
>>>You know the main food source of polar bears is the plentiful penguin<<<
You forgot the Sarc/ Tag. Apparently some here think you were being serious. LOL
Next time add the Polar Bears roasting a Penguin over the fire GIF.
Uh oh, time to close the Polar Bear Gun Show Loophole.
Once they get Firearms, we’re cooked.

Perhaps the Polar Bear lovers could move the bears to California to provide 'bio-remediation' of the sea lion & seal problem there?
I love going down there and shouting,
“Look! A Killer Whale!”
And seeing all those heads pop up like a forest of periscopes.
Plus the HL Menken quote:
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.
Drop off Algore and Michael Moore on an ice floe. See how the bears react. If the bears find them tasty then more research & testing (tasting?) is called for. DiCaprio, Clooney, Streisand, etc.
