A Republican donor and operative from Chicago's North Shore who said he had tried to obtain Hillary Clinton's missing emails from Russian hackers killed himself in a Minnesota hotel room days after talking to The Wall Street Journal about his efforts, public records show.
In a room at a Rochester hotel used almost exclusively by Mayo Clinic patients and relatives, Peter W. Smith, 81, left a carefully prepared file of documents, which includes a statement police called a suicide note in which he said he was in ill health and a life insurance policy was expiring.
Days earlier, the financier from suburban Lake Forest gave an interview to the Journal about his quest, and it published stories about his efforts beginning in late June. The Journal also reported it had seen emails written by Smith showing his team considered retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, then a top adviser to Republican Donald Trump's campaign, as an ally. Flynn briefly was President Trump's national security adviser and resigned after it was determined he had failed to disclose contacts with Russia.

RIP.
From your link....
...In the note recovered by police, Smith apologized to authorities and said that “NO FOUL PLAY WHATSOEVER” was involved in his death. He wrote that he was taking his own life because of a “RECENT BAD TURN IN HEALTH SINCE JANUARY, 2017” and timing related “TO LIFE INSURANCE OF $5 MILLION EXPIRING.”
I thought life insurance didn’t pay, on suicide.
The wet work guys figured out very early how to bump people off.
If they are fat - make it look like a heart attack.
If they ever saw a shrink - make it look like they were depressed.
If they were old - make it look like suicide.
If they ever dated a Kennedy - make it look like an accident.
Another article says the man is extremely wealthy so the life insurance claim is about as real as the botched robbery that killed Seth Rich.
...so the life insurance claim is about as real as the botched robbery that killed Seth Rich.....
You just posted exactly what hubby just said to me, when I read him this story.

All the deep-staters had their chance to disappear; now they’re being disappeared.
Workplace violence?
Head of those Death Panels we hear about?
He didn’t die trying to eat his pillow in his sleep, did he?
Cursive? That’s retarded, sir.
I cannot in good conscience excuse anyone whose been involved in thrusting this horribly troubled and dangerous person, Ms. Rodham-Clinton, on our nation and our lives. She needed help, not power.
When the Left actively start eating the Rich from a supine position is where reality meets the rubber road for them. House of Cards unending karma .... moar!
um, life insurance companies do not usually payout on a suicide for the very reasons stated in the article.
they do after a waiting period.
My life insurance policy has a no suicide pay-out clause and I believe one relating to being killed while committing a crime.
Not all conspiracies are on the Left.
Beware “FAKE NEWS” no matter where it comes from.
However, there is NOTHING FAKE about Hillary destroying 33,000 of her emails. That is a crime.
Try deleting 1,000 emails or even 100 and see how long it takes. 33,000 would break every finger on both hands.
Hillary belongs in jail along with the rest of her Crime Family from sexual predator Bill to Chelsea the “no show” journalist to the rest of her staff, including Huma Abedin, Susan Rice, etc.
“Some have said he was quite ill.”
So ill that he couldn’t post another word under the name Nachum even once?
I’m surprised he lasted this long. He went after Bill during his administration in the 90’s and is still alive 17 years later with the history of Clinton “enemies” that have somehow died unexpectedly or with problematic reasons involved.
And riddle me this: why would a guy who was after the Clintons for that long, write a note saying he didn’t die from foul play? I don’t think he really cared enough about them to make any move that could exonerate them in any way. Anyone could have written or typed that note. BS

Besides the suicide note, where are the rest of the documents, or as they said, "Carefully prepared file of documents"?
Why would they report about this mysterious file, then not follow up with questions about the contents of the file? Worst case would be the cops withheld that information from the reporter. But not a word except about the suicide note.
Suicides do pay out.
