A senior U.S. Republican senator predicted on Sunday that the Republican bill to roll back Obamacare would likely fail, adding to growing signs that the bill is in trouble.
"My view is that it's probably going to be dead," Senator John McCain, a senior U.S. Republican, said on the CBS program, "Face the Nation."
The Senate bill, which faces unified Democratic opposition, has been further imperiled during a week-long recess where several Republican senators have had to return to their states and face constituents strongly opposed to the bill. Senators return to Washington on Monday.

“constituents strongly opposed to the bill. Senators return to Washington on Monday”
Count me as one of those constituents opposed to the Republican/McConnell ObummerCare 2.0 bill.
Repeal ObummerCare in its entirety and free up private markets. Make health care great again.
Seems to me if McConnell had any guts he would force a vote on just repeal only and let those Republican senators that
are obstructing go on record voting against repeal so they have to explain to their constituents next election why they voted for Obamacare with the Dems when they could have voted to repeal it.
I’m done with the GOP.
Is this the bill with 50 Billion taxpayer dollars directly to insurers? It had better die!
McCain is a loudmouth and that’s about it.
If that's the case, then so is the Republican congressional majority.
What's the point in electing them?
Precisely the thought I was about to post.
Sign up McEmbarrassment first.
These townhalls coupled with media coverage of the same make the members of Congress feel like the whole country is against them. Supporters of the conservative agenda don’t show up, but the bussed in liberals do and fill the place to more than capacity. They aren’t as fun as Trump rallies, no, but not showing up and having them face a crowd of people insisting the repeal be passed vs. a hostile crowd of people insisting Obamacare be kept has contributed to at least partially to this. They are already week kneed enough to begin with.
I’m worried - I agree with McCain. A single repeal and replace bill is likely dead.
President Trump has the solution. Pass a clean repeal (just like they did when they knew Obama would veto and save them from doing the right thing). Then debate possible replacements separately.
Why Arizona keeps sending McShame to WashingtonDC....?????! At least 3/4 of the time he’s a terrible embarrassment
In the red shirt.
If so - a new health insurance bill is dead, McCain is likely in part responsible and getting what he wanted.
So what it was just Obamacare 2 anyway.
When they get serious about repeal let me know, but I don’t expect we will see it
