Trump Colludes with Poland
American Thinker.com ^ | July 8, 2017 | Daniel John Sobieski

President Trump’s speech to the Polish people wasn’t quite President Ronald Reagan telling Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall, but in setting the tone for what may be called the “Trump Doctrine” it may be equally important in a historical context. It was not an apology but a full-throated declaration of American exceptionalism and a shared interest with loyal allies, such as Poland, to resist tyranny and terror in all its forms.

Trump was also speaking to both Vladimir Putin and Germany’s Angela Merkel. Poland is a NATO member that, unlike Germany, has met its NATO commitments. It is also a country that has refused to adopt the European Union’s suicidal policy of open borders. As Reuters reported:

Poland has a moral right to say 'no' to refugees, the country's most powerful politician said on Saturday.

Jaroslaw Kaczynski, head of the ruling party Law and Justice (PiS), gave his views on immigration at a party convention in Przysucha, 100 km (60 miles) south of Warsaw.

"We have not exploited the countries from which these refugees are coming to Europe these days, we have not used their labour force and finally we have not invited them to Europe. We have a full moral right to say 'no'," Kaczynski said in a speech broadcast on television.

Last month the European Commission launched a legal case against Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic for refusing to take in asylum seekers, highlighting the feud within the 28-nation bloc over how to deal with migration.

Poland may be the poster child for extreme vetting. Poland does not accept refugees. Poland also has been devoid of terror attacks spawned in the refugee enclaves that dot the major cities of Europe.

to Collude LINK

To collude is to do something with evil intent.

I wish our side would quit slipping in insults, whether intended or not.

American exceptionalism

No. Whoever wrote this missed the point. It's not American Exceptionalism. It's the shared heritage of the West, from Bronze Age Greece, through the Greek City States and Marathon, the Roman Republic, Magna Carta, Florence, Venice, and Holland, the bright glare of the Scottish Enlightenment, and all of the material progress of the last three hundred years. We are the inheritors of all that and it's long past time we remembered. We owe the troglodytes in Africa and Islam exactly nothing.

He is note colluding, just being flexible. He can do so, since it is after the election.

I read somewhere that every Irish city started out as a Viking trading colony/fortress. So the Celts don’t seem to adept at city making. I guess they built the pub and decided that was enough.

:)

Irish before the Vikings were pastoral and centered around monasteries and churches. They were a collection of local clans and mini-kingdoms, little or no centralized civil government. The Vikings established trading centers like Dublin, looted the churches and took captives for slavery, but also assimilated to the Irish ways. Hard to say who ended up winning in conventional terms, but the Vikings are no more and Ireland flourishes as always.

American Thinker has generally been supportive of Conservatism hasn’t it?

That’s why I termed is as “our side”.

You apparently missed the point of my post.

It is an example of what the MEDIA is saying and what the MEDIA is implying.

My comment was meant to draw a unique European civilization spanning several thousand years to contrast it with the writer's focus on American exceptionalism. Christianity has been key for the past two millennia. I took President Trump's comments much more broadly than that and as the Celts, Greeks, and Republican Romans, with whom we also share a heritage of individual freedom and rational thought, were enthusiastic pagans it didn't get mentioned. To his credit President Trump's speech in Poland more than covered the key role Christianity has played.

Actually, I think you missed my point.

Look at the title of this article. That title wasn’t offered up by the Leftist Media. It was offered up by American Thinker.

I expect the Leftist Media to spin things, but I don’t expect the right to do it with them.

Collusion implies a devious intent. Cooperate with, combine efforts, coordinate with,... those would have been a positive way to express things, which using collude was not.
