A woman who shared a video of herself urinating on an American flag has asked that people stop targeting her family, saying they do not support her actions.
Emily Lance received online threats of murder and rape after posting the video during Independence Day celebrations.
Her account is no longer on Facebook but she previously posted that her father and his workplace had also been "targeted", reports say.
In the video, Ms Lance is seen standing over a toilet on which a US flag is draped, and urinating on it with the aid of a device that allows women to do so standing up.
She captioned it with: "F*** your nationalism. F*** your country. F*** your stupid f****** flag".
..."What don't you people understand? You're celebrating freedom while damning me for doing the same. You can't have it both ways," she said.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Sorry, but I hope she get’s her ass kicked.
C/\NT
Another hoax of being targeting for exercising one’s freedom of speech?
How ladylike of her.
What a dainty flower she is.
:-(
I don’t understand why big news organizations report that someone is getting threats of rape and murder after they do something controversial. Twitter threats happen all the time. You can post a picture of a puppy or kitten on Twitter and get threats of rape and murder.
Lady you are free to do all the stupid $hit you want. Everyone else is free to condemn you. Oh and I don’t believe your hyped up garbage about the alleged threats you received.
Ms Lance why don’t you just take your sorry ass back to Cuba or Mexico where you most likely came from .....If you want stand up for the USA....just leave...it’s a free country....no wall to keep you in.
“YOUR flag”
Obviously this creature doesn’t believe she is an American. Good. Deport her to Somalia. See if she changes her tune.
I’m sick of people who hate this country while living here and reaping the benefits. Get the f*ck out!
YAAW. Yet Another Attention Whore.
Freedom is actually about having the freedom to do right. That is why the original founders wanted to keep all those freedoms, so government could not force them to do what they believed was wrong.
It is not to have the freedom to do wrong.
Could be a hoax — someone wants to be a victim.
But if it’s real, this is another part of the coming Civil War. Just like CNN outing the kid who made the gif.
It’s street justice. Segments of society are going outside the existing governmental framework and trying to “smash” the people who are on the other side politically. This is basically what lynching was. “I think I know who raped that woman. Let’s not wait for the sheriff or the courts. Let’s just hang him.”
CNN found the gif guy? Threaten to expose him to danger.
Doxxing the CNN people so that they can be threatened in turn by the mob?
This woman with her flag hatred? Let’s threaten her family.
This is a breakdown in the social order. It’s not exactly unprecedented, but this is not at all typical for American society. This sort of behavior is indicative of a social contract being torn apart.
Boy, no kidding. If ever there was a vacuous, empty head of mush in a young person, it is her.
She equates freedom of speech with freedom of criticism.
>>threats of rape and murder
In the Snowflake mind, being told to “f*** off and die” is a threat of rape and murder.
Always interesting how vulgar the Left is.
My 19-yr old son has a term for some of their behavior, a word of his own invention:
scumf**kery
AMEN. May she reap what she has sown.
This is exactly what the radicals of the 60's, who came to full power in the election of 2008, had in mind.
Their God, Alinsky, and the Cloward-Pivens of their world, expressed in exacting terms by the American Left, epitomized by Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and all those of their ilk, have in mind.
A rending of a social contract.
Our "social contract" is our Constitution and laws. The Left (as well as some who purport to be on the Right) has let us know the US Constitution and the legally passed laws they disagree with are to be ignored.
That is a clear rending of the "social contract". And it is what they have been trying to do since the Sixties.
Boy, does that term ever fit.
