There is an interesting deep story to the internet war on CNN.
TimeWarner is the parent of CNN. But TimeWarner is much, much more than CNN.
The corporate giant also owns HBO, TNT, the film studio Warner Bros, DC Comics, (10% of Hulu), Time Inc., AOL, Time Warner Cable, Warner Books and Warner Music Group--among various other media entities.
The theme that ties them all together is that they are all businesses oriented toward the consumer. That is, the types of businesses that are vulnerable from many directions to the type of internet attack that has been launched against CNN.
Here's the $85.4 billion kicker.
AT&T Inc has announced an $85.4 billion deal to buy Time Warner. The merger is currently being reviewed by the Justice Department.
AT&T Inc. is another very heavily consumer-oriented business with its cell phone business and other cable, telecommunications and digital entertainment services.

CNN would be a very toxic asset that AT&T doesnt need. Time to re-negotiate the deal with TW.
Or better yet they could sell it to someone who might be a conservative. Then again conservativeswith that kind of money are usually feckless as all get out. But at least it would be gone from Time Warner.
Bingo! This is a free market opportunity to bring in more competition against the Left Media Cartel.
Hi.
Here’s another angle. I tuned into Air Americans to listen to them die. I enjoyed it.
Maybe every now and then I’ll tune into CNN to watch them die.

I’m not one to want to stifle free speech, even the hate speech coming from CNN, but in this case, because CNN is supposed to be a news media outlet with the responsibility of delivering the news honestly; it has gone far beyond what its mandate is and crossed the line of decency far too many times to be considered a news outlet.
Perhaps others could come up with a name other than Fake News Network.
If the was a performance of Julius Caesar where a scrawny, egotistical black man played Caesar, and he was murdered by a bunch of white politicians, I bet we would have heard of it.
I'll keep them because AT&T or the marketplace will take care of CNN eventually. I don't control that. But I am not arbitrarily dumping AT&T because they buy Time Warner. They may end up selling off CNN in the deal or afterwards if the deal even goes through.
I don't even watch CNN but I do access Free Republic via AT&T. No brainer to keep them.
The ownership ? gets very confusing. Below is the result of a Google search, I just ran.
Every link in that search shows TW is the owner via TBS.
Cable News Network (CNN) is an American basic cable and satellite television news channel owned by the Turner Broadcasting System division of Time Warner.

We have TWC which is now Spectrum..its either that or Directv here in LA
#CNN-ChildAbusers
Same here in SW Ohio (Dayton) - my TWC internet evolved to Spectrum.
No no no....
That’s Time Warner CABLE - just the cable TV business was sold in May 2016.
What AT&T is buying is Time Warner Corporation (TWX) which is a public company that includes all of the Turner properties (i.e. TNT, CNN, etc), HBO, and Warner Brothers.
It’s an $85 billion deal.
NOTHING to do with Spectrum aka the old Time Warner cable TV company.
I don’t know how to do them, but somebody could become VERY famous by taking the video of a suicide bomber accidently blowing himself up and putting the CNN logo on his face.
Extra points for MSNBS, CBS, ABC, NYT & WAPO logos over the faces of his buddies in the room with him
Thanking you
Thanks for Ping things really heating up
EXACTLY!!!....Pay the shareholders a few billion more every year and concentrate on the business's you have!!!....
