BERLIN (Reuters) – In their campaign program for the German election, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservatives have dropped the term “friend” in describing the relationship with the United States.
Four years ago, the joint program of her Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its Bavarian sister party, the Christian Social Union (CSU), referred to the United States as Germany’s “most important friend” outside of Europe.
The 2013 program also described the “friendship” with Washington as a “cornerstone” of Germany’s international relations and talked about strengthening transatlantic economic ties through the removal of trade barriers.
But the words “friend” and “friendship” are missing from the latest election program – entitled “For a Germany in which we live well and happily” – which Merkel and CSU leader Horst Seehofer presented on Monday ahead of a Sept. 24 election.
Instead, the United States is described as Germany’s “most important partner” outside of Europe. CDU officials were not immediately available to comment on the change in wording.
The change in wording underscores how relations between Berlin and Washington have deteriorated since U.S. President Donald Trump entered the White House in January.

It’s not the first time we have not been friends.
Germany ruling elites not a friend of ours, never have been. They are friends with the invaders though, yet once the invaders/sharia has taken over will they let the ruling elites live?

“Friend” is a two-way street, Merkel. You’re not a friend of the U.S. in your surrender to Islamic jihad.

infact Germany and France are the plague of Europe, and has been throughout history.
Time to close the rest of the US Military bases in Germany, and bring the troops home.
Let Merkel deal with the consequences.

That's actually her goal.
That way West Germany will have completely ceased to exist, and her former masters in the East will have no organized opposition.
After Reunification there should have been a moratorium on former DDR officials from holding national office. It should have been a generation before their children could.
She's still STASI. Her contempt for the West is ingrained, she can't get rid of it, nor does she want to.
Her orders and her goal is to debase the anti-Communist parts of the West, dilute them until they have no hope of resisting initiatives from the East.
You will note that Putin has no intention of letting Muslims into his country en masse to undermine him and his people.
