After decades in Lago Vista, moved to Liberty Hill two weeks ago. 100% luberal-free.
It’s funny. Cold never bothered me until last winter, which wasn’t that severe. Guess I’m just getting old. You deal with three hot months to get nine months of nice weather. Fair deal IMO.
I’m up in Georgetown.
Texas can take some lessons, in this regard, from Wisconsin & Governor Walker. It was near all out war, but Walker won most of the battles against the statists-progressives at the end of the day.
I’m an hour away from Austin , but I’m there all the time due to family . Yes , Austin is a cult .
Hot as heck in Austin and way too many liberals.
Was there a couple months ago and there were a ton of homeless everywhere. I asked a local why and he said the other cities (Houston, Dallas, etc.) ship their homeless to Austin. Must have been 500 people living outdoors downtown.
Great place to live in the 80s for local bands and nightlife. Wouldn’t want to be there now.
That may all be true about Austin but it had the best job market and one of the best real estate markets in the country.
And the tacos taste great.
I have a friend who lives in a Del Ray community in Georgetown. She loves it and is always telling me to come out.
The 80’s were great for bands. Lots of great clubs and co-op parties to play
I’ve been to Austin a couple times. Stayed for a few days each time.
I thought it smelled like Occupy Wall Street.

Back in the early 90s a jilted lover poisoned the “Treaty Oak”, an old oak tree under which Sam Houston, according to legend, rested when he was voted out of office. It is the last surviving tree of 14 where Indians would meet and sign treaties.
They spent thousands and thousands of dollars to save the poisoned tree. Today they would let it die because Sam Houston owned slaves. I’m surprised they haven’t cut it down.
Austin is a very liberal place. I’m going to the Hill Country” on the fourth and will eat an In & Out Burger. I’m surprised they allowed one to be opened there. There’s a Bible verse on every cup. They probably haven’t noticed.
Worth a trip. Come early April when the wildflowers are in peak bloom and the weather is great.
Houston and Dallas ship their homeless to Austin. Yeah, right. They’re there because of the freebies.
As for music, I’ve never understood why they call it music.
Being a desert climate, everybody, normal and moonbat, hate taking down trees as growth rate is slow with the hardwoods here. We are some landscaping fools.
Millions were spent to save that tree.
And they would do it again.
The problem with In & Out is not the Bible verse, the problem is that they are from California.

May be from California but the beautiful owner is a strong Christian.
Austin has major California envy. Almost every nutty idea they get has already been done out in Cali.
