Hot as heck in Austin and way too many liberals.
Was there a couple months ago and there were a ton of homeless everywhere. I asked a local why and he said the other cities (Houston, Dallas, etc.) ship their homeless to Austin. Must have been 500 people living outdoors downtown.
Great place to live in the 80s for local bands and nightlife. Wouldn’t want to be there now.
The 80’s were great for bands. Lots of great clubs and co-op parties to play
Houston and Dallas ship their homeless to Austin. Yeah, right. They’re there because of the freebies.
As for music, I’ve never understood why they call it music.
I seriously doubt Houston’s shipping anybody anywhere. It may not be as lib as weird Austin, but it’s controlled by the democrat machine.

What you were told, TC, is BS. Austin is just the primary sanctuary city in TX and happens to be CA-East. Dallas and Houston are both blue cities, but don’t ship homeless folks anywhere.
My nephew owns a bar/restaurant in Austin, which worries me, but he’s doing well and hasn’t gone Dem yet.
A previous poster (I apologize for not remembering his name right now) mentioned living in Lago Vista for a long time and now has moved to Liberty Hill. ....Spent several days at Lago Vista about 25 years ago, playing golf with the spouse. Was beautiful, with deer ranging free all over the course. .....I’m sure he is happy to now be about 30 miles or so North of Austin and near Georgetown.
