Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg wants his social network to fill the role that churches and social clubs once did in communities.

Thanks Mark. Instead of spending an hour in church this weekend worshiping our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I will stay at home, turn on my PC, navigate to Facebook, and spend an hour worshiping at the center of the universe, that being the god of posting, Zuckerberg.
Hey fb: Shut the zuck up!
I have a “copyright” on “Fuckerberg,” but my licenses are free.
L. Ron Zuckerberg.
I’m looking forward to zuckleberry’s ozymandus moment.
Facebook is like a loud bar. You can be with people but you cant really have a conversation or develop real intimacy.
interesting point...though I think intimacy is possible through FB messaging facility...
“L. Ron Zuckerberg.”
More like David Miscavage Fuckerberg! Actually, what is needed here is a fight to the death between the two of them. Automatic weapons at ten paces.
ESAD Suckerberg ...
L. Ron Zuckerberg’s diarhea-netics. It runs as well as you should expect it to run.
The biggest reasons by far (probably seventy percent of the pie chart) are desire to live promiscuous lives and desire to engage I inebriated hedonism.
This turning away in not unique to western civilization.
It isn’t didn’t arise in the recent millennium.
It’s not going to end different than past declines.
The behaviors being embraced have always lead to massive poverty and violence.
Meh, not all that looney IF one only evaluates the social gathering aspect of church.
you have nailed the issue...
History repeats. And the millenials are too wasted to know they will repeat the worst parts of it.
Sorry Mark.. God has news for you..
Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Unless you repent... you will die in your
sins and the results will not
be a “ church” or “ heaven”.
Pope Zuckerburg? I don’t think so.
It depends on what the purpose of “church” is—to have community and social sharing, or to worship God? It’s hard to think of Facebook as furthering the worship of the true God. If church is just a social event, maybe Zuckerberg is right, but he’s certainly not right about the correct purpose of church!
There are two different visions of what a church is colliding here. There are many mainstream clergy who share Zuckerberg’s view of a church as a community or social support system without necessarily getting into the whole salvation question. If you believe that being a member in good standing of your church will help get you into heaven, chances are you don’t see eye to eye with the Facebook guy, because you’re defining your terms differently from him.
I abandoned Facebook before it barely got started. Seemed like an dreadful, insidious idea to me. I really never wanted one fake friend, which is really all they can deliver.
First thing Facebook will do is ban the Good Book. To appease his gay and Muslim friends, of course.
Sorry! Ill send you money anyhow.
There are 2.1 billion Christians.
And 2.0 billion Facebook users.
Scary.
——————————————\
Maybe not as scary as it seems...of the 2.0 billion Facebook users, a number of them are Christians. I have no stats to provide, I just know that I have seen Christian posts, pro-life posts, and Evangelical Churches with Facebook pages...
