New York Times Newsroom To Walk Out After Editors, Reporters Send Letters Decrying.

Editors and reporters in the New York Times Co. newsroom can no longer keep quiet about their growing frustrations regarding the direction of the paper.

After a pair of letters sent to Executive Editor Dean Baquet and Managing Editor Joseph Kahn by Times reporters and copy editors, the News Guild of New York said the New York Times editorial staff will leave the newsroom on Thursday as a demonstration of solidarity as management threatens jobs.

In the copy editors’ letter to Baquet and Kahn, they say they feel betrayed and disrespected in the newsroom, and ask that management reconsider staffing cuts that are expected as the paper plans to restructure.

“Cutting us down to 50 to 55 editors from more than 100, and expecting the same level of quality in the report, is dumbfoundingly unrealistic,” the letter reads. “You often speak about the importance of engaging readers, of valuing, investing and giving a voice to readers. Dean and Joe: We are your readers, and you have turned your backs on us.”

The NYT is the finest bird cage liner and fish wrap money can buy. Seriously, I hope Sarah Palin costs ‘em dearly.

Same level of quality??? Hell, I can lie easily. Don’t need to be quality. Hire me for thousands of dollars and I will sit here at my computer and tell lies all day long.

Cutting us down to 50 to 55 editors from more than 100, and expecting the same level of quality...

They think it could actually get worse?

I envision laid off NY Times reporters and editors offering little sample Vienna sausages on a toothpick from a tin out in front of a food cooperative. Fillers, byproducts and artificial coloring...these are things they know. What else are they going to do?

I think that making a profit should be a prerequisite for being allowed into the White House Press Briefings. If your losing money or are supported by some rich benefactor you’re out! This is America baby!

Ah, but they do work at a trade that is a hybrid of journalism. One that blends words to influence thought. It use to be called PROPAGANDA!

I remember getting laid off after 9/11.

I did not get mad. I thanked the VP I worked for (he’s now one of my Senators) and wished him the best.

I’ve been independent since then and am very successful.

Of course, I’v always been a conservative and the Editorial Staff at the Times is, well... you decide...

““Cutting us down to 50 to 55 editors from more than 100, and expecting the same level of quality in the report, is dumbfoundingly unrealistic,”

The NY Slimes has found out that they don’t need editors for their fake news.

Their main fake news audience will not see any difference in so called quality with zero editors.

Who needs all of these people just to pump out leftist fake news?

Buzzfeed does it with a fraction of the staff.

Just use the cloud to connect Buzzfeed to the NY Slime’s printing presses. Then, you don’t need so called reporters, editors and printing people.

Hey Carlos are you reading this?
