Congress is considering new legislation that would permit lawmakers to carry a concealed firearm wherever they perform official duties across the United States, according to a copy of the new bill that marks an unprecedented effort to help lawmakers confront a growing threat to their safety.

This was covered rather well on Brietbart’s radio show this morning. Mo Brooks was on and answered it in that he also has introduced or sponsored legislation for reciprocity nationwide but as with everything else, the establishment stands in the way. He was hopeful that this latest effort would at least get the log jamb moving because of his view that politicians are far more likely to be focused targets, more-so than the average citizen. I don’t buy the latter but if it get the national reciprocity moving . . .
But the easiest answer is right there in the Constitution, for everyone. But just like everything else, its not good enough until they need it and then they figure out ways that only they get it and not their constituents.
wait... lets think this through... perhaps we can return to duels rather than these long boring filibusters that we have grown accustomed to. of course we need to allow all to carry, if they want this law to stand to stand a chance.
popcorn...
Incredible chutzpah!
Do as we say not as we do
This pisses me off more than anything else the Republicans could have done.
If the bill is not modified so that it applies to everyone, I will actively work to defeat ANY Republican elitist that votes for it.
I am SO SICK of our elected scumbags upholding rights for only themselves. Asswipes....all of them.
In effect, granting themselves titles of nobility.
I saw a congressman being interviewed a couple days ago and he said reciprocity for everyone is what is being discussed.
Think of its potential to drive dem HOR members to even worse fits of irrationality. Either they'd have to alienate their base by carrying a gun or every day they're in DC realizing that Republican Congressmen are armed and they aren't.
I’d rather grant them a swift kick in the nuts with a steel-toe boot.
I’ll support this on one condition... that the same goes for everyone.
Armed guards in their porn movies?
There, fixed it.
Since they are delegated representatives of the voters,
...aren’t all voters lawmakers?
Lawmaker - -
I tell my dog when to ‘sit’, ‘lay’, ‘go to your bed’, ‘shake’, and more ....
He obeys.
I say that makes me a Lawmaker too.
The 2nd Amendment is a Constitutionally guaranteed right that has been whittled away by local, State and Federal law.
I know a few folks that work in bad parts of town but are not legally allowed to carry a gun.
And now Congress wants to grant itself more special privileges?
I vote, “No” until they give the same privileges to everyone.
I’ve about had it with their “I’m more special than you” attitude.
Seems only Lawmakers and Lawbreakers get unfetterd, untrained, unvetted carry when this passes. Does show who’s important, a nutcase like mccain or jesus from the neighborhood ms13 chapter or common citizens living daily life.
Should be for everybody! The Elite in D.C. is no more important than me!
You can do it.
