Fifteen days after London was targeted in a deadly terrorist attack — its second in less than three months — police in the British capital stood by Sunday as flags of the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah were carried openly during a small pro-Palestine march through the city center.
Hours after the march, yet another apparent attack occurred near a mosque in north London late Sunday night. One person was killed and eight injured after a van slammed into a crowd of people who had emerged from a prayer service at the mosque. A suspect has been arrested.
Earlier, more than 24,000 people had signed a petition urging London Mayor Sadiq Khan to ban the march, to no avail. The petition cited legislation making it a criminal offense to display an article in public indicating membership of or support for a proscribed organization.
But organizers advised participants beforehand that they could carry Hezbollah flags “to show support for the political wing of Hezbollah. This is because the political wing of Hezbollah is not a proscribed organization.”
At the front of the march, a large yellow Hezbollah flag flew above a large Palestinian flag inscribed with the words “Boycott Israel.” Hezbollah flags, which feature a graphic of an assault rifle, were also seen draped around the shoulders of some demonstrators. …

The streets were full of lone wolves that day. Each participant was carefully identified by the authorities so that on the day after the marcher committed a terrible crime, the government would be able to stand up and proudly say, “He was known to us.”

My cousin was at a remote Texas intersection when a van full of muslims blew the stop sign and got tee-boned by a big truck. There were no survivors, it was an emotional and violent thing to see. It shook my cousin so deeply he has since taken a job as a truck driver.

I have loved and read a great deal of British history most of my life, dreaming that one day I could see some of what I had read about. Now that I might be able to, I just don’t think I want to, everything looks to dangerous now and London looks like a nightmare.

I’m glad I got to see the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London when I did. It was a different place 1½ decades ago.
Imagine Nazi flags openly in the streets. Absolutely unthinkable. There is no such thing as Nazi-phobia. The British are going to regret how they are handling this. I do not see a rosy picture of this country in 20 years. Maybe we should have just let Hitler have his way and saved American lives.
