Number of casualties as 'van hits worshippers' outside mosque in north London

A van has reportedly crashed into pedestrians outside a mosque in London, causing a "number of casualties".

Officers arrested one person after they were called shortly after midnight to the incident on Seven Sisters Road, near Finsbury Park station.

Police said they were responding to a "major incident" with "a number of casualties being worked on at the scene".

Witnesses reported seeing six people on the ground after the van ploughed into worshippers who had been attending evening prayers at the Muslim Welfare House. London Ambulance Service said they had sent "a number of resources" to the incident.

Since it appears to be a white person, NOW ABCCBSNBCCNNMSNBC will call it terror and will talk non-stop 24/7 about the atrocious act of terrorism.

One person has been killed and 10 others injured after a van was rammed into worshippers near a mosque, before the driver is said to have screamed: “I’m going to kill all Muslims”.

The latter, I think.

Amber Rudd, the Home Secretary, said police are treating it as a “terrorist incident”. Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, described it as “a horrific terrorist attack”.

As opposed to when the shoe is on the other foot, and Khan tells everyone to “get used to it”.

If that is the case, I hope they get him some counseling in jail and take the extenuating circumstances into account at sentencing. Grief and righteous red hot anger can make even a sane and decent man do terrible things I am sure. Temporary insanity. That’s why Osama Bin Laden hid out in Pakistan, evil protecting evil. My God, I got a million stories of what those mo fos would do when I was driving a taxi. One tried to run me up a sidewalk once where I almost hit a guy and his young son, oh yeah and they would always break my side view mirror. Like if I got to a passenger first, they would pull up alongside me get out and kick my side view mirror off, another one cut my tire. And this wasn’t because I cut them off, this was solely because I picked up passenger that they deemed was for them. They could have been driving a block away from me, it wouldn’t matter, they would still attack.

I still don’t like calling some of these actions “terrorism”. Dumbing down the meaning.

This is definitely mass murder...would be if anyone died.

But terrorism implies a coordinated effort by some organization (yes, a conspiracy). This guy is a one-off, and thus does not fit the definition. Technically neither do some of the Moslem attackers, even if they did it in the name of Islam.
