Senate GOP shifts focus to Lynch
The Hill ^ | June 18, 2017 | By Jordain Carney

Senate Republicans are clamoring to hear from Loretta Lynch after former FBI Director James Comey raised concerns about her involvement in the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee are seizing on Comey’s testimony earlier this month that he was concerned over the former attorney general telling the FBI to refer to the Clinton investigation as a "matter," which resembled the Clinton campaign line.

The move could allow Republicans to attempt to pivot away from the investigation into Russia's election meddling — which top GOP lawmakers have signaled belongs to the Intelligence Committee — and focus on Lynch, who has long been a target of Republicans.

Sen. John Cornyn (Texas), the No. 2 Senate Republican who is a member of both the Intelligence and Judiciary committees, said it “would be very helpful” for Lynch to testify before the Judiciary panel, which oversees the Justice Department.

“Frankly a lot of what Hillary Clinton was exposed to by Director Comey’s misconduct and the way he handled that was apparently in response to his lack of confidence in the attorney general, and I think there is a lot we could learn from that,” Cornyn said.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) also wants to hear from Lynch and is pushing for the Judiciary Committee to “get more involved.”

“The accusations now that ... the current and former attorney general were political – that has nothing to do with Russia as much as it has to do with how the Department of Justice is being run,” he said. “I want to find out all about that.”

A spokesman for Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the Judiciary Committee chairman, stressed that no decisions have been made and staffers needed to first “gather evidence."

But the spokesman said it was “likely” after Comey’s remarks before the intelligence panel that Lynch’s testimony before the Judiciary committee “will become necessary at some point.”

President Trump has seized on the Obama administration official as the federal investigation into possible ties between his campaign and Russia heats up.

“A.G. Lynch made law enforcement decisions for political purposes...gave Hillary Clinton a free pass and protection. Totally illegal!” Trump tweeted

I guess I will be negative Nancy on this one.

I would love to get Lynch but this is just a distraction for the fact that no one in the GOP is standing by the POTUS.

And, secondly, the FBI is going after Lynch (and Justice and Senate GOP) are riding along for the glory of bringing down both the people who were mean to poor little Jim Comey.

It’s a farce and this gal is not falling for it.

GOP, do something real. Get off your butts and do something.

You’re right they are attempting throw us a bone. Mueller has put together a Rat hit squad. Instead of the Republicans calling him out we have the speaker of the house defending Mueller. Almost unbelievable.

Agree. The hit squad is growing by leaps and bounds. I am firmly convinced that Pence is in on this.

I don’t buy that loyal crap one iota. If he were really loyal, he would be chewing azz’s of every GOP Senator on that hill.

His loyalty is to things far less important. Staging.

Happy Father’s Day to all you Dad’s out there.

I am going cook my hubby a huge breakfast!!

They've reduced themselves to being a farce by not having an ObamaCare replacement ready. We now know for 100% sure who butters their bread, and it forsure isn't their voting fodder.

Last week was the coup's assassination attempt to take out a considerable percentage of Republicans in DC. Had it been successful, the breakdown of government and the chaos that followed would've been irreversible. Do Republican Swampthings seriously think their butts will be saved if the coup takes hold? They HAVE to get together and give 100% support to our President and stop snipping away with their divisive agenda. If they don't do this, the nation cannot be saved.

Pray that a few days after the assassination attempt, it's finally registering with them what's going on. They need unity and a successful Trump Presidency to save the nation. I'm praying but not optimistic that these narcissistic bought and paid for swampthings who use us as campaign fodder will get a clue and save the nation!

agreed. The senate should be repealing obamacare, tax overhaul, building the wall and stopping the rapefugee invasion.....instead they are playing investigator, and hindering any chance of Sessions doing His Job. That really is the Uniparty’s intent....traitors.

Trump’s lawyer’s new lawyer praised the selection of mueller as being the right person for the job. Wonder what he thinks now.

It’s about time. EVERY Republican, conservative, non-liberal, etc. must turn EVERY question about the Russian Squirrel, into a discussion ONLY of Lynch Obstruction, Comey leaks, and the need for a Muller recusal. There should be Zero talk of the Russian Squirrel.

Summoned by Congress is bad for Loretta's all-you-can-eat dining on the taxpayers' credit card.

She'll have to go on a crash diet to fit into her off-the-rack Walmart suit....
and get shoes that fit her size 10 feet..... squeezed into her 1950's size 8 shoes.

“squeezed into her 1950’s size 8 shoes. “

Huh ? What are you talking about?

There were no shoes like that in the 1950s.

How Russia Probe Exposes Loretta Lynch for Possible Wrongdoing in Clinton Email Case
Breitbart.com ^ | 15 Jun 2017 | Aaron Klein / FR Posted by Rockitz

EXCERPT The tarmac meeting was first reported by a local ABC affiliate in Phoenix, which asked Lynch about the incident at a pre-scheduled news conference at the Phoenix Police Department. Lynch confirmed to ABC15 in Phoenix that she “did see President Clinton at the Phoenix airport as he was leaving and spoke to myself and my husband on the plane.” The local station quoted sources saying the meeting lasted about thirty minutes.

Lynch claimed there was “no discussion of State Department emails” or any other matter pending before the Justice Department. She maintained that the conversation was “a great deal about grandchildren, it was primarily social about our travels and he mentioned golf he played in Phoenix.”

The tarmac meeting was first revealed by ABC15’s Christopher Sign, who said that he was tipped off about the event by a “trusted source.” Sign described a scene in which the FBI reportedly asked people at the tarmac not to take photographs. “The FBI there on the tarmac instructed everybody: no photos, no pictures, no cell phones,” Sign stated.

The Obama White House postured to explain the meeting. Following the disclosure of the tarmac episode, President Obama’s press secretary, Josh Earnest, felt the need to iterate Obama’s stated commitment to avoiding “political interference” in Justice Department investigations.

Judicial Watch raised the possibility of ethical and legal problems for Lynch. “Attorney General Lynch’s meeting with President Clinton creates the appearance of a violation of law, ethical standards and good judgment,” the conservative government watchdog group said in a statement:

Attorney General Lynch’s decision to breach the well-defined ethical standards of the Department of Justice and the American legal profession is an outrageous abuse of the public’s trust. Her conduct and statements undermine confidence in her ability to objectively investigate and prosecute possible violations of law associated with President Clinton and Secretary Clinton.

The New York Times in April first reported that the tarmac incident solidified Comey’s decision to go rogue, bypass the Justice Department and violate FBI tradition by holding a July 5, 2016, press conference to make conclusions on Clinton’s email case At the gripping press event, which took place in the heat of the presidential campaign, Comey criticized Clinton’s private email server as “extremely careless” before finally stating that “no charges are appropriate in this case.”

Comey was widely criticized for going rogue instead of failing to seek Lynch’s recusal on the Clinton case. His actions were cited in a letter from Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein recommending that Comey be fired. In his Senate testimony this month, Comey confirmed Lynch’s tarmac meeting with Clinton “capped” his decision to make public the results of the FBI probe into Clinton’s emails.

Referring to the tarmac meet, Comey stated, “In an ultimately conclusive way, that’s the thing that capped it for me that I had to do something separately to protect the credibility of the investigation which meant both the FBI and the justice department.”

I would like to find out just how many Republicans in Congress actually have ‘republican’ staffers. I suspect very few.
