“Dirty” is not equal to “nuclear.” A “dirty” bomb is designed to cause panic and terror, with less emphasis on death and destruction. A “nuclear” device is a weapon of mass destruction that uses nuclear reactions to cause mass death and damage.

This was ‘breaking news’ at like 8am EST this morning... I am pretty sure they found no signs of radioactivity. I do not even think they have said why someone thought it had a dirty bomb on it.

Does anyone have more info on this? An attention seeker, a serial conspiracy theory blogger, George Webb apparantly took things way too far by alleging to have info on a specific ship carrying a "dirty nuclear weapon" into the port of Charleston.
This caused port authorities to disrupt operations so the ship could be checked out and cleared.
It appears that the Feds have rightfully busted this idiot for the phony bomb threat. I guess he'll get the attention he seems to be looking for.
