GOP lawmaker: Wasn't ISIS terror attack in Iran 'a good thing'
Hill, the ^ | 10 June 2017 | Jacqueline Thomsen

A Republican congressman said this week that a recent ISIS attack in Iran could be a “good thing” and even suggested that the U.S. government support ISIS for attacking other terrorist groups.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) said during a House hearing on Hezbollah “isn’t a good thing for us to have the United States finally backing up Sunnis who will attack Hezbollah and the Shiite threat to us?”

“Isn’t that a good thing?” he said. “And if so, maybe this is a Trump — maybe it’s a Trump strategy of actually supporting one groups against another, considering that you have two terrorist organizations.

Rohrabacher's comments came after attackers in Tehran stormed the parliament building and a shire of the country’s first Supreme Leader Wednesday, leaving at least 17 dead and dozens injured.

More of the same. Why should the USA take sides in the 1000 year old battle between Shia and Sunni Muslims? We lose whichever side wins or wins for the moment in any particular area

The enemy of my enemy is my friend? Heh, when it comes to islam it really is just another enemy....

I am thinking Gen. 16:12 - He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.

What he said was “isn’t ISIS attacking Iran a good thing”, but what I heard was “I am an irredeemable Deep State operative, please start a grassroots revolt in my district.”

Let's see ...

Recent U.S. decisions to support terrorist groups brought us al-Qaeda and ISIS.

What could possibly go wrong?

'Effing morons.

Expressing doubt about supporting Sunni militias is what got Trump in the trouble he’s in. If he would agree to support ISIS and Al Qaeda (maybe under another more sanitized name) all this Russia stuff might go away.

Yes, I doubt whether Trump is supporting any of these terrorist groups, at least not more than momentarily when he has no choice.

Let them kill each other, and let us stay out of it. It was Obama who kept giving them billions of dollars and tons of weapons.

That’s pretty sick. And ill never understand all this GOP kneepads for fellating sunni islam. They act like sunni is some allied friendly benign sect.

Its actually the sect that brought us London bridge, and Parliament attacks, Manchester, the beheading of that British soldier, 7/7 London, Madrid, Berlin, the Cologne mass rape, Nice France, Charlie Hebdo, Bataclan theater, The Russian concert bombings, the Theater takeover in Moscow, Brussels airport, Beslan, the bombing of the Russian airliner in the Sinai, the black widow bombings of two airliners the same day, the streetcar bombings in Volgograd.
The Boston bombers, the shoe bombers, the underwear bombers, Major Hassan and Fort Hood, the Marines shot in Tennessee, the Pulse nightclub, San Bernardino, USS Cole, Army recruiters shot in Tennessee, 9/11 of course, that poor grandmother beheaded in Oklahoma. Madrid Spain. Benghazi, the Bali bombings.

That’s all sunni, just off the top of my head.

Yeah, the sunnis are our good buddies. (ISIS, AL Qeida,,,)

I agree with what Dana said except for the ISIS part. There are groups in Iran who want their freedom and are ready to rise up. Obama had chances to fund them but chose not to do so and instead supported the regime. IMHO Obama did fund ISIS in Syria and Iraq. I think the concept is good but no ISIS.

Follow the money. There hasn’t been one Shia attack on us has there? Yet we are constantly told that the Shia are the worse sect. The Shia aren’t handing out wads of cash to our pols.

Let them fight it out. The world no longer needs their oil.
