Rep. Steve King (R-IA) blasted the angry left on Wednesday at the scene of a shooting earlier in the day that wounded House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA), an aide, and two Capitol Police. “America has been divided,” King said, according to the Washington Post. “And the center of America is disappearing, and the violence is appearing in the streets, and it’s coming from the left.”
Asked whether the shooting was politically motivated, he said he did not know why the gunman did what he did.
However, King pointed at anger and demonstrations against Trump, according to the Post:
King, in his remarks at the shooting scene, said it was impossible to separate the hyperpartisan climate in Washington — especially people protesting Trump — with Republican members of Congress being fired upon at a baseball practice.
“The divisions within the country, people that can’t accept the results of the election that are determined to try to take this country down, take this organization down,” he said. “This city was filled up with demonstrations the day after the inauguration, where you couldn’t drive down the streets. And we’ve had demonstrations every week since then, sometimes different topics.”
King added: “We do need to focus on what’s happening to the culture in this country.”
The shooter has been identified as James T. Hodgkinson III, 66, of Belleville, Ill. by law enforcement officials.

I thought the same thing. I’m disturbed about this evil act but did they think we wouldn’t see the ludicrous game on our dime?
Senators and Congressmen don’t work 9-5. Sometimes they’re in session all night, sometimes they’re on extended trips through their constituency, sometimes they have long office hours.
From the point of view of wages, they’re basically salaried employees; we’re not paying them to be there only 8 hours a day, but to be available all the time.
Of course, there are some who never show up, or do so only rarely (I think one Barry Obama was famous for that), and their constituencies should be out there demanding audits and then a recall election...
Hell, our govt has been unable to even classify actual terrorists as terrorists for the past 8 yrs. Don't expect that to change over night because our govt bureaucracy is still full of libtards. The deep state leftists will do all they can to resist any reforms by Trump.
An insider fight is ongoing for the control of our govt and it should be called a coup attempt by the left. Gallows should be built.

I don’t recall candidate Trump relying on advice from Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul. Once elected, Trump went to the same Goldman-Sachs/CFR well that any mainstream president would. Didn’t seem to help DC like him, and it looks increasingly like the President is unwilling to make DC respect him.
It is getting drained but there is a lot of crap down there on top of the drain that needs to be removed often.
The communists are winning and they have the audacity to investigate Russia. All of the democrats have blood on their hands for promoting this violence toward the Trump Administration.

Just as the Jihadi “Lone Wolves” aren’t truly self generated but are spawned and crudely aimed in an miasma of preached hate, so too are the ‘Loon Wolves’ (a great term I’m swiping from nickedknack) spawned in the deluded toxic swamp on the left. And here it is all the more fitting whom he idolized. After all, what medical condition produces a contagious delirium and dementia without involving any living pathogen? Yup, Mad Cow disease.

They were wrong on all counts... I doubt the guy in Quebec was interested in limited government, free markets, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and the US Constitution. Ask them what exactly made any of them “conservative.”
De facto Scalise has earned a Purple Heart in what may become one of the first battles of a long 'struggle' over the home front. A 'struggle' we must somehow win. (Actually calling it the 'home front' would be good start.) De jure he doesn't qualify and I don't think Trump should formally stretch those rules. But I think Trump, in his inimical way, should make up (tell Ivanka to design it) and unofficially award some, 'badge' for Scalise that evokes the Purple Heart symbolically and that drives the MSM—more—nuts for at least a couple news cycles.
There has been one good pattern in today's news. A lot of GOP congressmen and senators are telling it like it really is, in ways that really connect to anyone salvageable for their cause. Jeff Flake, saying he called Mrs. Scalise as soon as he was stabilized, so she wouldn't first hear of it over the news. Rand Paul, telling how a pinned down staffer chose to climb over a 15' fence in about 2 seconds while he was trying to decide on which side of the tree to hide. Rodney Davis, of whom I knew nothing, who'd been batting when Scalise was shot on second base, gave a beautiful interview this morning and ended with thoughts similar to Steve King's. Tim Scott, not on the team this year but who's played on it in prior years, had very moving words. Maybe really getting shot at has given the GOP some perspective on their old fears of being shot by the media.
The violent hate in our public discourse isn't equally distributed, a fact that all sides well know but that the haters deny and that the recipients had been too cowed to state. That needs to change and this provides as clear an example as we're apt to get, barring mass fatalities. THEY say "never waste a good crisis." WE can't afford to waste this one lest we're to be literally 'wasted.' But we need to do it our way, with good spirits, humor and a positive attitude.
If they try to argue "Gabby Giffords" kindly remind folks that she was shot by a young man developing schizophrenia who'd given plenty of warning signs. But the model of care for our mentally ill, ordained by the Democrats, doesn't let you or our mental health infrastructure, check out and help people acting weirdly by any 'normal' standard. Not until they ask for help... or until after they've committed violent crimes. They're left to potentially hurt us, but we can't hurt their feelings. So Gabby's shooter went unchallenged and this loon spent two months living out of his van and lounging alone around the YMCA without exercising, and without being challenged. Maybe those acting mentally ill deserve some Good Samaritan mental health screening before, or in place of, PC mental health coddling. In one of the wealthiest counties in the country someone was living out of a van and no less than the Democrat former mayor chatted with him every morning for 2 months, yet didn't ever offer to help hook him up with social services! Where's the compassion?!!
The calvary rolls in a few minutes after four were shot and follows with a press conference worthy of Oscars, congratulating all the late arrivals on a job well done and promising to investigate everything now the shooting was over. Had they sent one progressive social worker to the YMCA in time they might have prevented the shooting, saved their guy's life, and his vote for their side.
If the GOP responds like this the loon wolf herders will only have two options left. Concede our points, modify their behavior and return to the traditional limits of political discourse. Or double down on the loonies and hope their victims still identify as sheep, instead of as rams armed against them.
We need to turn the table, we need to protest and call for the beheading of liberals, starting with Sanders and Soros. Are we ready to spill liberals blood?
