No, not yet. The attempted assassination is arguably approaching the effect of John Brown’s raid on Harper’s Ferry, which I consider the boiling over of nutcases but not actually the start of of the Civil War. In this case, Hodgkinson is just some hysterical Bernie supporter acting on the suggestion of killing Republicans; he is not a level-headed (albeit grossly misguided) leader.
Civil War II will begin when there is an organized assault on legitimate core sociopolitical power structure. Had this nutcase succeeded, or if we find there are more level Leftist heads behind this “lone wolf” attack, we’d be approaching that point.
So no, not Civil War II. Yet.
I’m wondering if the Scalise and company were always the target. Be interesting to know when the perp arrived in the VA/DC area...

Democrats can’t tell the difference between Map Points and Gun Scope targeting lines. Well, actually they can, but they know average People will believe their fake narrative which worked when they targeted Sarah Palin for that particular Ad.

Although it could just be they follow anyone who follows their Twitter. .
Of these Facebook groups Hodgkinson belonged to, the most chilling are “I Hate Republicans” and “Terminate the Republican Party.” Along with the very long list of crimes Hodgkinson presumably will be charged with, hate crimes ought to be among them, if only to see liberals’ heads explode as they try to argue that the concept only applies if the perp isn’t a kindred spirit with the courage to act on what they, themselves, fantasize about.

With their reactions to this shooting, many in DC, the media, and entertainment will further reveal themselves in the hours, days, and weeks coming, and have no idea they’re doing so. I suspect some of our friends and colleagues will, too.

Within the last month two artistic works have drawn criticism for imagined violence against Trump. In May, comedian Kathy Griffin apologized for a photo where she held a mask of a bloody, severed Trump head after a major backlash where CNN cut ties with her. More recently, a production of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” depicted a Trump-like figure who was assassinated. The president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., on Twitter highlighted another user’s tweet that said, “Events like today are EXACTLY why we took issue with NY elites glorifying the assassination of our President,” soon after shots were fired at Republican congressmen during a baseball practice.

It's being reported that his wife said he moved to VA two months ago. Yet, nobody that knew this guy had any red flags going up? A sixty-something year old guy that owns a home repair business in IL pulls up stakes, abandoning his business as well as his wife, and none of their friends or acquaintances question what's going on based on his rabid political views? Boggles the mind. Did they think he moved to VA to open a branch of his home repair/restoration business????
