Conservative Treehouse ^ | June 13, 2017 | Sundance

Posted on 06/13/2017 11:31:38 AM PDT by COUNTrecount

Attorney General Jeff Sessions will be testifying before congress today and his former democrat colleagues have promised to tear him limb from limb. Fired FBI Director James Comey previously testi-lied that it was his opinion Jeff Sessions was placed inside the U.S. Attorney Generals office to coordinate with Vladimir Putin. Gottabe a spy, ohmygosh.

AG Jeff Sessions’ response will take place at approximately 2:30pm EDT today. Tickets for the circus level fiasco are sold out and media are breathless with anticipation.

You sound like a liberal. It’s not fair to have eligibility requirements to be POTUS...My son, daughter, wife etc may not be able to run.

Pull up your big boy panties.

Oh my!!! That is so funny! :) It's good that you have a sense of humor!

This is totally unrelated but it reminded me of something else funny that people say. Our son-in-law is a twin; his twin is a girl. They say that a number of people over their lives have asked if they are identical! :)

“Only that he, hrc, wjbc, bho, pelousy, lynch, jarrett, kennedy and others have gotten away with so much totally unscathed blows my mind.”

We’ve got Harry on multiple bribes, Mafia ties. The mindblower is the coverup by FBI, DOJ and Republican pols.

If “we’ve got Harry” why isn’t he in jail? He hasn’t even been charged and probably won’t be either.

Trump needs to go on the offense. He gets pilloried either way by the dims and the press so he may as well accomplish something.

We won, they lost but we act like losers still letting the dims have center stage, still letting them run amok, still letting them have a pass for their criminal activity. Why? What gives?

We have 20,000 regulations passed by agencies of the barky administration without congressional action so why does it take congressional action to reverse them? Trump is wating on the CRA process and has only reversed 13 regulations that I count. Some substantial ones but not enough of them. For example, why is any farmer still having to defend himself against the waters of the US act because the corpse (no mistake) of engineers and epa claim he is building mini mountain ranges when he plows? Why doesn’t Trump spew his famous tweets for something useful instead of just bloviating and picking fights. Why doesn’t he say, “Effective today I have directed EPA and the corpse to freeze all actions and review regulations pertaining to enforcement of the waters of the US act pending congressional repeal of that act that I have requested today.” The agency made the regulation and the agency can reverse it.

Too slow, too nice.

Milqutoast Sessions....

Not sure that is an accurate description. Now I respect your knowledge and have learned from your posts. I just can't reconcile Caspar Milquetoast with the Jeff Sessions who stood up to, and played a crucial role in defeating GW Bush's amnesty.

“....start manufacturing evidence”??

Like all this crap hasn’t been made up by people who want to damage this president and our country?

They make it up as they go along whether there’s evidence or not. We all know that!

I’m getting weary of it myself. I’m sure the ones who are being accused with absolutely no evidence produced are!

LOL. I was characterizing how some people, not me, view certain members of the administration. Some contributors criticize Sessions for roughly being asleep at the wheel, or somehow ineffective. Some people criticize Trump's rhetorical style (Tweety Trump).

I don't agree with those views at all!

I am 100% in favor of reasonable, thoughtful criticism, even when I disagree. I am not in favor of anyone attempting to filibuster a thread by posting the same two or three over-the-top accusations a dozen and half times. I am also not in favor of demagoguery and simplistic scapegoating. It so easy to blame Sessions for everything, instead of having to actually think this through in a levelheaded manner.

Where’s your blame for the Democrats, the “press,” and the Congressional committees actually doing this witch hunt? Where’s your blame for Rod Rosenstein, the man who decided there should be a special prosecutor and chose Mueller? When I first heard that Trump had nominated Rosenstein to be the Deputy A.G. I was afraid it would be trouble, since he was a career bureaucrat and had been promoted by Obama. One could just as easily say the entire blame is on “cowardly,” “selfish,” “ego” driven Rosenstein, but even that would be simplistically papering over all the complexity of the real situation.

I never said you weren’t a Christian. LOL. I do not think it reflects well on what is also my religion as well as yours when anyone attacks a person viciously and repeatedly for doing the ethical thing, especially while declaring one's Christianity. That you would also push a distortion of Sessions’ testimony that goes against what I have seen 90+% of conservatives say about it—and do so without having even watched the hearing before declaring your judgment—also does not reflect well on you.

Sessions put the President and the country in a horrible situation because of his ego and his pride of protecting his "reputation".

This is simply slander (as is your dishonorably calling him a “coward” several times because he did what he believed to be the principled thing). You have said this several times now without a shred of evidence, only your personal speculation. I would have no problem with reasonable criticism over whether he was or was not required to recuse himself. You didn’t do that; you chose only to unfairly attack him. I’m glad none of us here will ever be in a foxhole with you, because it’s obvious that you would (using your own wording) stab those on our side in the back first long before you ever got around to standing up to the enemy.

In Minor, the US Supreme Court clearly defined “natural-born citizen” by two independent remarks:

1. “…all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also.” First, the Court states that these persons are “citizens”. But then it makes a second statement about this class –

2. “These were natives or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners.” This class of citizens are part of a class defined as “natural-born citizens”. They are citizens, natural-born. This distinguishes them from all other citizens. If this were not the case, it would have been sufficient for the Court to stop at the first statement concerning their citizenship.

But the Court didn’t stop there. Because the Court was avoiding the 14th Amendment, the Court went to the second step and defined this class to be different from all other citizens. This class did not require the 14th Amendment to be US citizens.

Whether persons born in the US to non-citizen parents were “citizens” was not a question before the Minor Court because Mrs. Minor was natural-born, whereas Wong Kim Ark was not. The determination of his citizenship required the 14th Amendment, whereas Mrs. Minor’s did not.

MINOR V. HAPPERSETT IS BINDING PRECEDENT AS TO THE CONSTITUTIONAL DEFINITION OF A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.

To balance out the mentions of leftist CNN, ABC, NYT, WaPo, and some random Dem on Tucker’s show, here’s what some on our side said about Sessions’ testimony:

Sara Huckabee Sanders said Pres. Trump watched the testimony and thought Sessions was “very good.” Donald Trump Jr. retweeted Chris Barron’s statement, “That Sessions opening statement is what is known as a home freaking run. #MAGA,” and added in his own words, “Crushed it.” Don, Jr. also tweeted, “Well said AG Sessions: ‘I did not recuse myself from defending my honor from false & scurrilous accusations.’”

Ann Coulter wrote on Twitter: “Sessions did a great job; Dems came off as pushy, obnoxious, interrupting loons, i.e. themselves.” Bill O’Reilly tweeted: “Senator King trying to embarrass Sessions re: his refusal to discuss conversations with @POTUS. King gives up. No one has rattled Sessions.” Alex Jones wrote: “Sessions fully DESTROYED the Russia Hoax in his Testimony, completely Smacking down the Russia-Conspiracy yet Again.” Jack Posobeic tweeted: “#SessionsHearing should have been rated R for the graphic savagery of Jeff Sessions.”

Newt this morning on Fox News said all Republicans should study Sessions’ “angry, direct” testimony that hit just the right “emotional tone.” He called it a study in not being passive. Kennedy began her show on Fox Business last night by saying Sessions “came out swinging” (Fox & Friends this morning used the same words). On the Five, Kimberly said he was “aggressive,” and Greg said he was “scrappy” in his testimony. Greg even said Sessions “handed his ass to him” about Sen. Wyden. Jesse was very positive. Earlier last night, Kenneth Starr told Martha McCallum that Sessions “defended himself beautifully” and that he admired Sessions’ “righteous indignation.” Krauthammer (not always a friend to the Trump administration) noted that Sessions “exposed the absurdity of this whole exercise.” I’ve repeatedly seen and heard the word “fiery” on Fox News about Sessions’ testimony.

The Trump supporters over at The_Donald on Reddit were extremely positive over Sessions with several threads on the hearing with titles like [language warning!]:

-Sessions just destroyed the entire mainstream media narrative in the first five minutes

-AG Sessions is destroying the Democrats with ease. He already took them down years ago when he shut down the KKK in Alabama.

-Sessions is a BAD ASS

-SESSIONS IS SPITTING HOT FIRE! COMEY BTFO

-Sessions bitchslapped Wyden so hard today that the slap reverberated back in time causing Wydens lisp. #SessionsHearing

-”I’M NOT STONEWALLING!” Jeff Sessions Destroys Democrat Senator

-Attorney General Sessions: “Sen. Wyden, what I am trying to say politely, is you are slandering me and I am going to take your b.s. and shove it back down your throat, Sir.”

-SESSIONS IS CALLING OUT FAKE NEWS LEFT AND RIGHT

-POWERFUL Jeff Sessions Opening Statement: “ZERO RUSSIA COLLUSION”

-Sessions: “Some people may find that they wish they hadn’t leaked” BOOM Sessions drops the hammer on illegal leaks

-This is him at the beginning. Did anyone realize how not worried whatsoever he was from start the end? He was genuinely perplexed at the sight and spectacle of this whole circus and his performance was top notch.

-SESSIONS JUST MADE THE SENATE BTFO - MUHRUSSIA NARRATIVE IS DEAD !! He said the reports about a third meeting is an outright lie and hat he is insulted by the MUH Russia accusations!!!!

-Based AG, with his “defend my honor from scurrilous accusations” comment, sounds like he’s about to challenge someone to a, old-fashioned duel.

-Tom Cotton And Jeff Sessions DESTROY ALL Liberal Talking Points Regarding The Russia Witch Hunt

-Sessions is amazing

-BASED SESSIONS PUTS THE ‘AG’ IN MAGA. LET’S HEAR IT FOR THIS PATRIOT.

-Sessions is mopping the floor with these assholes.

-Jeff Sessions should have played baseball. IMO he hit a grand slam!

Exactly. When dealing with bullies, which is how I see these people, everyone knows that weakness and timidity do not make them back off. The only thing they respond to is strength and being put in their place. Pres Trump is good at that but in his current position he has to remain diplomatic and above the fray to an extent so he needs real fighters representing him and his admin right now. I believe Sessions is a good man and I don’t particularly like Christie but we need people with his temperament and no nonsense attitude right now. Also Gowdy would be wonderful for this job with his delivery and demeanor. Ghomert too. I just saw a YT where he was questioning about the Awad brothers.

You may call it spamming a thread. I had to respond to multiple posters who disagreed with me. Furthermore, it is manifestly obvious that Sessions recused himself because of him. His honor. His reputation. It had nothing to do with protecting and serving his boss, the president of the United States. And we are stuck with him. Even if he resigned, it would take months to get another attorney general through Congress. Is he investigating the treason and crimes from the previous administration? No. None of that. We are playing defense.

Man. There is gotta be something we are not being told. Some kind of game is going on behind the scenes that they cannot risk being fully open about to we the public hence why there a a key point that dont make sense to us. What in the world could it possibly be? Hardly nobody is acting like they should be acting.
