Jeff Sessions: Trump's attorney general to testify in public on Russia

US Attorney General Jeff Sessions will testify in public to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday on his role in the Russia investigation.

Mr Sessions, who wrote to the Senate Intelligence Committee at the weekend, has asked that the hearing be open.

He will face questions about undeclared meetings with Russian officials and the president's firing of the FBI chief.

Media reports last week said Mr Sessions had offered to resign because of tensions with the president.

Senators have meetings, luncheons etc with ambassadors of many countries including Russia all the time.

What I have seen written is that these types of meetings are not what they're talking about when they're asking about "meetings" on these forms. They're just considered to minor. In other words, they are not in any way, shape or form policy meetings.

This could also be Sessions way of resigning. It’s obvious the rats are going to put pressure on him via ridiculous rantings. Sessions at that point could say he is a political liability, this won’t end so he should resign. This time Trump will have to accept it.

I hope this isn’t the case. Would prefer to see something along the lines of the 20% Uranium stake the Clintons gave to Russia being illegal and needs to be investigated and prosecuted immediately.

I’ve read that he reused himself without discussion with the President. If that is how it happened, it looks like just another guy thinking of himself first and doing CYA.
